How to Get the Most Out of Your DVC Disney World Vacation

 “What days are the busiest at Disney World?”

Weekends. Saturdays are the busiest days at all Disney Parks and Disney Springs. This makes total sense. Locals have off weekends, and with Disney in their backyard, where else would they be? Statistics show that the ride wait times are on an average 8.6% longer on Saturdays than any day of the week. We highly recommend making your DVC Vacation Weekend, an all day DVC Resort day. There is so much to enjoy at your DVC Resort, take full advantage of it! We then suggest heading to Disney Springs for a late lunch or early dinner. Use your Saturday and Sunday for the ultimate relaxation weekend, rejuvenate and get in your rest before your DVC Disney Park Week that lies ahead. Stand in line or iced tea by the pool followed by a Ghirardelli Ice Cream at Disney Springs? Choose wisely.

Magic Kingdom

We’ve heard this so many times, “We start and end our DVC vacation at Magic Kingdom.” While having THE most popular park as the bookends of your week vacation is extremely magical… you aren’t the only family that thinks so. In fact, Mondays and Fridays are without a doubt the busiest days for Magic Kingdom for locals and out-of-towners. If you think about it, it makes sense. Orlando residents are more likely to make a three day vacation out of Disney with guests ( two of those days being the weekend), and other families want the Magic Kingdom bookend experience. Any Monday during the school year that schools are closed: Labor Day, Memorial Day, President’s Day, et-  consider it a Saturday as far as crowds and wait times go. 

So what’s the least busiest day at Magic Kingdom? Tuesdays and Wednesdays tend to have shorter wait times and less crowds. The locals are back to work, and the other vacationers tend to be at Epcot. (Tuesday is a busy Epcot day…read on) 

Epcot

Due to all the Festivals catered towards adults, serving up alcoholic beverages and food, Epcot tends to be busiest on weekends or days leading up to the weekend. Tuesdays have also been known to show high wait times and large crowds for this park. Mondays and Wednesdays have been known to have shorter wait times. If you can swing it, try to get to Epcot on the first or third day of the week!

Animal Kingdom

Birds flock to Animal Kingdom, crowds do not. This park is generally the least crowded park due to early park close time and having the least amount of attractions. Some DVC Members have said they don’t even do a full day at Animal Kingdom and use this as one of their parks that they Park Hop to and from. With the park closing at 8:30PM most nights, Disney enthusiasts tend to hit Animal Kingdom earlier and hop to another park for a night time spectacular! Just because this park is the least crowded, does not mean it doesn’t have a lot to offer. The attractions at Animal Kingdom are stunning, characters are easy to spot here, and the Safaris are like none other. Animal Kingdom has something for every age in your Disney loving family! 

Hollywood Studios

Second to Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios tend to be a crowd favorite most days of the week. Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays tend to show longer wait times and larger crowds. The slowest days for Hollywood Studios tend to be Tuesdays and Thursdays, as far as previous crowd trends and wait times go. Hollywood Studios is a must-see because there is so much to see and do at this park, hence why it attracts so many guests. 

These are some helpful park “rules of thumb” to get the most time at your favorite parks. Now, when do these rules go out the window? HOLIDAYS.

Holidays at the parks are a free-for-all and there is no steady statistic about which park to go to or avoid, if less crowds are your thing. That being said, no one does Christmas or Halloween like Disney, and if you haven’t been to a Disney Park on one of these holidays, put it on your bucket list and start counting your DVC Points, because it’s an absolute DVC Must Do Experience!
