Staying home all of last year just makes the excitement of Disney’s 50th Anniversary Event even more magical!  We weren’t the only ones spending more time cooking at home-so was Chef Mickey! Disney is rolling out a new menu for the 50th Anniversary Event and we could not be more excited to share…well, share the news of the new treats with you. (We want every sip of that Marceline Mudslide.)  Let’s start where it all started, Magic Kingdom.

Drinks for All

I Cannot Tell a Lie: Vanilla and Cherry Ice Cream milkshake with a graham cracker, brown sugar rim. 

Where: Liberty Tree Tavern, Liberty Square 

Why: We can’t tell lie either, this is delicious and we’ll probably order two…whoops.

VoluntEARS Needed: Glass of shaved ice topped with Pink Cotton Candy and a Minute Maid Lemonade Sidecar, to put out the cotton candy fire!

Where: Tony’s Town Square Restaurant, Main Street USA 

Why: You’ve sung “Let It Go” more than Elsa herself, your vocal cords need this refreshment.

Drinks for (All Over 21)

The Marceline Mudslide: Vanilla Porter Beer blended with Vanilla Ice Cream, topped off with Chocolate Syrup, whipped cream and chocolate pearl crispies.

Where: The Plaza Restaurant, Main Street USA

Why: Umm…because you became a homeschool teacher last year, you deserve this one. 

Celebration Flights with Enchanted Champagne: Royal 50th Celebration flight using Enchanted Champagne sold exclusively at the WDW Resort.

Where: Cinderella’s Royal Table, Fantasy Land

Why: Because you are a DVC member and just like Cinderella, you are Disney Royalty.

1971 Meals (There’s four different ones in Magic Kingdom)

1.) All American Hot Dog with Walt’s favorite Chili recipe and Cheese, French Fries, Fountain Drink and 50th Anniversary Cake Pop

Where: Casey’s Corner, Main Street USA

Why: This was one of Walt’s favorite meals and chili and cheese are like Pixar and Disney- better together.

2.) All-Meat Flatbread, Garlic Knots, Fountain Drink and 50th Anniversary Cake Pop

Where: Pinocchio’s Village Haus, Fantasyland

Why: Because you aren’t a puppet, you are a real boy (or girl) and need all the protein you can get while park hopping. 

3.) Beef Nachos, Yellow Rice, Fountain Drink and 50th Anniversary Cake Pop

Where: Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe, Frontierland

Why: There’s an on average 75 minute wait for Splash Mountain and this mountain of nachos will help pass the time.

4.) BBQ Chicken Sandwich, Chili-Cheese Fries, Fountain Drink and 50th Anniversary Cake Pop

Where: Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe, Tomorrowland 

Why: Because it will take you many DVC family vacations to find all the hidden Mickey’s, but only one to try all the 1971 Meals in Magic Kingdom.

(Cue: Beauty and The Beast’s “Be Our Guest”)

Entrees 

Engine Co.71 Smoking Pork Belly: Italian-marinated Smoked Pork Belly with Manchego cheese, Cremini Mushrooms, Pickled Yellow and Red Beets, and Asparagus. 

Where: Tony’s Town Square Restaurant, Main Street USA 

Why: This was named after a train - which were Walt’s favorite toy, and we are DVC members, we are already fans of all things Walt.

Monte Cristo Sandwich: Roasted turkey, provolone cheese, and bacon sandwich deep fried in funnel cake batter, sprinkled with EARidescent and powder sugar, served with strawberry jam.

Where: The Plaza Restaurant, Main Street USA

Why: *See sandwich description above*

Magic Carpet Ride: Spiced-crusted Pork Belly and Tenderloin with Curry potatoes, glazed carrots, and a peppercorn flying carpet.

Where: Cinderella’s Royal Table, Fantasyland

Why: Because we you want to find out what a “peppercorn flying carpet” is before it flies away.

The Doom Burger: Plant-based Crab Cake Sandwich topped with slaw and red onion.

Where: Columbia Harbour House, Liberty Square

Why: Since this is plant-based- it is Sebastian and Ariel approved!

Desserts

Happy Haunts Milk Shake: Inspired by the The Haunted Mansion, it’s a Blackberry Milkshake with a Purple Chocolate Glazed and Black Sprinkled Doughnut. 

Where: Liberty Tree Tavern, Liberty Square

Why: Because no matter how many desserts you have in WDW, your Mickey Ears will still fit.

The Lost Slipper: A mini slipper is hidden inside a chocolate dome with white creme pearls and warm caramel sauce.

Where: Cinderella’s Royal Table

Why: Fireworks over Cinderella’s castle is the perfect ending to every Magic Kingdom day, and this is the perfect ending to any Disney meal.

The Snow White: DOLE Whip Lemon, a blue cone, chocolate bird and a sugar bow.

Where: Storybook Treats, Fantasyland

Why: Mirror, Mirror on the wall, this is may be the sweetest one of all.

Cheers to 50 Years Ice Cream Sundae: Think all of your favorite sweets- cupcake, brownie, and cookie crumbles covered in hot fudge, whipped cream, and EARidescent sugar on a mountain of chocolate and vanilla ice cream scoops, finished with a Mickey Pretzel smothered in caramel and chocolate. 

Where: The Plaza Restaurant, Main Street USA

Why: Because you’ve been walking all day and at Disney we count DVC points- not calories.

This is just a start and just the new goodies in Magic Kingdom! We have three more park menus to explore! So far, I think even Mrs.Potts would be very proud of this menu!
