Becoming a Disney MagicBand user on your DVC Vacation is like becoming a DVC Member: once you become one, you wonder why you didn’t sign up sooner. Disney MagicBands have been out since 2013, and we’ve been loving every minute of the magical hands-free park experience. In September 2021, Disney announced that MagicBand + would be debuting sometime in 2022. We are here to report, it’s officially been announced to hit wrists and parks this summer, 2022. MagicBand + will also be introducing its “Hey Disney,” feature (think, “Hey Alexa'') into the MagicBand brand later this year. These two new features will help us continue our 50th Anniversary celebrations! Also, did we mention when the new MagicBands go on sale this summer that DVC Members and Annual Passholders will be able to purchase MagicBands at pre arrival, pre purchase price? You know what savings mean… more souvenirs!

So what is MagicBand +?

MagicBand + will still include all the wonders that MagicBand previously included and more. Don’t worry your easy DVC resort access, touch less payments for dining, reservations, and souvenirs , and access to PhotoPass, will still be at the touch of a wrist. But, Disney is imagining so much more this summer.

MagicBand + will bring the Fab 50 to Life

The golden statues that have been placed throughout all four of Disney’s theme parks will now have an interactive option with “Disney Fab 50 Quest.” The sculptures will come to life with animated sounds and magical secrets about each character’s own world. It’s an interactive opportunity you do not want to miss. 

Galaxy Mission: MagicBand+ Star Wars: Batuu Bounty Hunters Experience

You can be fully immersed in the Star Wars: Batuu Bounty Hunters Experience in Hollywood Studios, don’t forget your MagicBand on your galactic interactive mission!

Nighttime Spectacular Magic

Disney’s new MagicBand +, will sync up with your MagicBand while you are watching nighttime spectaculars at the park, so you can experience your favorite night time entertainment like never before.

Disney just dropped a few more details on “Hey Disney,” that we are so excited to share. Building on Alexa Echo technology into MagicBands, Disney is introducing,“Hey Disney.” It’s essentially Alexa for your MagicBand, with over 25 character voices to choose from : Mickey Mouse, Olaf, and Princess Tiana…just to name a few. The MagicBand will make it easier to interact with your DVC Resort- you’ll even be able to order room service from your MagicBand. The “Hey Disney” feature will be complementary during your DVC Resort stay. But, the magic doesn’t have to end once you leave Disney property. Disney ImaginEARs are working hard to produce an at home “Hey Disney” feature that will bring the magic to your house, making it the most magical home on earth. This new feature will be released at select DVC Resorts and Disney Hotels later this year…so keep your Mickey Ears open for new magical details!
