Grand Floridian Christmas 2021

Each year, usually early to mid November, resort hotels at Walt Disney World receive a magical holiday overlay. Some are more decorated than others and the Grand Floridian has one of the most exciting displays of them all. All four theme parks have a massive Christmas tree guests enjoy seasonally. The Grand has one of the only resort trees that are on that same level and a life size gingerbread house that sells special treats.

Grand Floridian Gingerbread House 2021

The Grand Floridian gingerbread house has made a comeback in all its sweet glory. In 2021, the gingerbread house is part of the Walt Disney World 50th anniversary celebration. The gingerbread browns are typically paired with the look of a white frosting trim. This year, gold and iridescent blues adorn this feature, made of real gingerbread, to tie in with the most magical celebration on earth. The Grand Floridian gingerbread house is also usually a little treat shop itself. This year it seems the close quarters inside the house have cast members serving holiday goodies at a table right next to it. The long line is worth the wait to get a delicious piece of gingerbread and appreciate the details close up. There’s really something sweet for everyone here with gluten free and plant based gingerbread man cookies. Other delights include a special gift box of treats that celebrate the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World. Inside there’s a traditional gingerbread shingle, like the ones you see on the roof of the gingerbread house, peppermint bark, a blue 50th Mickey balloon shaped gingerbread cookie ornament with gold sprinkles and more.

Grand Floridian Christmas Tree

The Grand Floridian Christmas tree is a splendid sight to see. Warm yellow lights are draped on the stories tall tree with glittery, sparkly ornaments that compliment the Victorian theme of the resort. The twelve days of Christmas are depicted on the Grand Christmas tree with art featuring the vignettes from the song. Pops of pink and green on shiny bulbs add a tropical feel and velvet bows add a cozy texture. The balcony near the entrance of the monorail on the second floor has a spectacular view of the tree and decorated lobby. This is an excellent spot for a photo with the bright whites and creams of the Grand Floridian and lovely decorations as a backdrop. The grand lobby staircase is also decorated with garlands and looks delightful.

Grand Floridian Villas Christmas Decor

Within the Disney Vacation Club building at the Grand Floridian guests will find charming, glittery decorations too. There are trees upon entering to welcome you home and bright wreaths hung throughout the Grand Floridian Villas lobby. As the decorations went up this year, the Mary Poppins penguin fountain was being refurbished and freshly painted. Spit spot, just like the magical nanny would like it.
