Old Key West DVC

Old Key West is where Disney Vacation Club began. Opened in 1991 as the original DVC resort, it brings a relaxed, island-town feel to Walt Disney World, with pastel cottages, gingerbread trim, and the slow pace of a seaside village. It's tucked away from the busiest parts of the property, which makes it one of the quietest places to stay in the system and a long-time favorite with owners who value peace and space over being in the middle of the action.

The resort's design takes its cues from the historic architecture of Key West, with colorful buildings, shaded porches, and winding paths that wander through palm trees and gardens. Villas are known for being some of the most spacious in the DVC lineup, ranging from studios to three-bedroom Grand Villas, many with generous layouts, full kitchens in the larger units, and balconies or porches that overlook the grounds. After a long park day, it feels more like coming home than checking in.

Old Key West trades a Disney park view for a quieter and more residential feel. A boat takes you to Disney Springs, a short ride away, and there are pools spread across the property, plus walking and biking paths along the waterways. Dining is easygoing as well, from casual quick-service to a sit-down restaurant with a Key West flavor. If you like starting the day on a porch with a coffee and ending it by a pool, this is the resort that does it best.

For buyers, the first thing to know is that Old Key West contracts come with two possible expiration dates: 2042 or 2057. In 2007, Disney offered members the chance to extend their deeds an additional 15 years, so it's important to confirm which date applies to the specific contract you're considering. Annual dues are $11.20 per point for 2026, and because of the age of the resort and the shorter deed on many contracts, price per point is generally more approachable than at the newer resorts. If space and calm matter most, Old Key West remains one of the best values in the DVC system.
