Summer is one of the busiest times at the most magical place on earth. The heat can be overwhelming but with school out, the crowds still arrive! While there are no new major lands or rides opening this summer, Disney does have some things reopening and debuting in 2025. This summer at Walt Disney World Resort kids can dance, play and chill with seasonal offerings hitting all four theme parks. Here are the Disney World summer 2025 details including "Cool Kid Summer" activities, character dance parties and more.

Disney World Cool Kid Summer 2025: Special Offers, New Shows & More

What is Cool Kid Summer at Disney World?

In 2025, the warmest season will be a Cool Kid Summer at Disney World. This starts May 27th and goes through September 1st, 2025. You can expect DJ dance parties, surprise character appearances and additional activities geared toward young children.

In the past, Disney would have summer overlays celebrating new movies, attraction openings or other themes. Cool Kid Summer celebrates young guests with a range of temporary additions. Each of Disney World's four theme parks has something extra for this limited time offering.

Cool Kid Summer at Magic Kingdom Park

• At Magic Kingdom, there is a Big Top Bash at Storybook Circus. A ringmaster DJ spins tunes for a summertime dance party with Pluto, stilt walkers and jugglers.
• There's a Galactic Blast at Tomorrowland with Stitch. A DJ party will take over the Rocket Tower Plaza Stage next to Carousel of Progress. The live action Lilo & Stitch movie hits theaters on May 23rd.
• Inside the Merchant of Venus store, kids can do a craft inspired by this summer's Pixar film Elio. It's in theaters June 20th.
• The Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away parade will debut this summer as well. It has characters from Encanto, Frozen, Coco, Moana, Peter Pan, Wish, Cinderella, Pinocchio and more Disney Princesses.

Cool Kid Summer at EPCOT

• CommuniCore Hall gets a Goofy takeover this summer. This flex space will transform for the season into an immersive experience with Goofy. There will be dance parties led by a DJ and games like Loopy Limbo and Parachutes ‘n’ Pipsqueaks.

• The Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival runs through June 2nd in 2025. For this event, Communicore Hall has a Disney horticulture exhibit, showcasing the magic of character topiaries and more. There is also a food booth inside Communicore Hall for this event. It's called Epcot Farmers Feast and features different menus throughout the festival. It looks like this offering will be cut short as Communicore Hall closes earlier than originally announced to prepare for Cool Kid Summer activities with Goofy. It closes temporarily May 12th. We can guess the last day for Communicore Hall Flower and Garden offerings in the original space here will now be May 11th. The Disney Parks Blog confirms those food options might be available elsewhere. Check Florida Fresh just outside of CommuniCore Hall.

Cool Kid Summer at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

• There is new seasonal fun at Animation Courtyard. Games, crafts, magicians, jump rope performers and surprise character appearances await.
• You'll find another DJ dance party with Mickey Mouse and Disney Junior friends as well.
• Also new at Hollywood Studios in the summer of 2025, there are two shows debuting in the park.
• The Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After show opens at Hollywood Studios on May 27th. The Disney Villains show at Hollywood Studios is located across from Tower of Terror in the former Lightning McQueen attraction. You can see favorite villains like Captain Hook, Maleficent and Cruella in this live stage show.
• The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure show at Hollywood Studios opens on May 27th in the same space as the former Ariel show at Hollywood Studios. The new show features returning favorite songs like “Under the Sea” and “Part of Your World” and two newly added numbers, “Daughters of Triton” and “Kiss the Girl.”

Something to note: Disney's Hollywood Studios will have six stage shows in the summer of 2025!

Cool Kid Summer at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

• At Animal Kingdom, Rafiki’s Planet Watch has crafting activities all about pollinators like bees and butterflies. You can access this area of the park by taking the train near Kilimanjaro Safaris.
• You can also earn a new Wilderness Explorer Badge this summer at Animal Kingdom. You'll see the kiosk with other Wilderness Explorers as you walk into the park when the Tree of Life comes into view, just over the bridge on the right.
• There will also be a Discovery Island interactive singalong with a Dino Institute Intern. This celebrates animals found in the park through song and storytelling.

Both Water Parks Open This Summer at Disney World

Disney recently shared that both water parks will be open for the summer. This hasn't happened since before the 2020 closure. There is also a special promotion where resort guests can visit a Disney World water park for free on their check in day.

Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park is open now.

Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park reopens on May 21st.

Both water parks are open for summer as of May 21st.

Test Track Reimagined Opens Late Summer 2025

Test Track will reopen in its third form, once again sponsored by General Motors. It's been closed since June of 2024.
