There's so much to see at a new theme park and you want to make the most of your time. Early entry opportunities for resort guests can be helpful in maximizing your day. Does Epic Universe have early entry for hotel guests? How does it work? This benefit can make the most of your experience in the park, allowing you a head start. You may be able to enjoy a few popular attractions before others are even through the gates.

Epic Universe Hotel Guest Early Entry: How it Works

Here's how it worked during park previews for Universal Orlando Annual Passholders, Universal Orlando Resort hotel guests and others. Note that the entry procedure may change over time.

Once you arrive at Epic Universe, there isn't a separate line to get into the park. Everyone, hotel guests and others, stand in the same line to get in the park, even if they aren't eligible for early entry. It's once you're actually inside the park that hotel guests have an advantage.

However, standing in the same lines as everyone else for security and ticket scanning can cut down your early entry time as a Universal resort hotel guest.

While the long lines might move fast, if you arrive at 9:00 a.m. for an early entry that starts at that time, you will be behind.

All guests will be let in the park but only those with Universal Orlando hotel keycards are permitted past certain check points.

Once inside, you'll choose the right side to head toward Stardust Racers or the left to head to Super Nintendo World.

So what if you aren't interested in the limited offerings available during Epic Universe early entry? Can you enter other portals? You can expect the other portals to be closed. Some resort guests may be standing around them, waiting for them to open though. Getting through the portals before non resort guests helps you beat the rush for attractions like Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment. Being next to a portal, even if the world doesn't open early, can help you be first in line and avoid bigger waits.

Is it worth staying at Universal Resorts for Epic Universe early entry?

The Epic Universe early park admission for hotel guests can be worth it. Make sure you are planning ahead and including the appropriate amount of travel time to actually be in the park for it though.

If you're staying at one of the three Universal hotels near Epic Universe, travel time won't be a concern. That includes Universal Helios Grand Hotel, which borders the park, Universal Terra Luna Resort and Universal Stella Nova Resort.

Otherwise, if you're staying at one of the properties near Islands of Adventure, City Walk and Universal Studios Florida, bus transportation to Epic Universe could take up to a half hour or more. It's likely that the ride from one area of Universal Orlando to the other will be 20 to 25 minutes. That's very dependent on the time of day and traffic though. Give yourself ample time to arrive early enough to take full advantage of the Epic Universe early entry benefit.

If you're considering staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, some may be 20 to 30 minutes away or more, depending on the property. A quick Maps search shows different routes within that time frame from Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa to Universal Epic Universe on different days of the week. This is always dependent on traffic though.

The Epic Universe hotel early entry can be worth it to start your day in the park before the lines are too long and the park is full of people. With such limited offerings open though, don't expect particularly short wait times at the open attractions. You may still be waiting an hour for Mario Kart: Bowser's Challenge because it's one of the only things open. However, that's extra time you won't have to wait later in the day!

It saves time to be in the park early to buy souvenirs you want to wear for the day like hats and shirts. The shops in the front of the park are open. Starbucks near the entrance is also open during this time. If you plan to play with the Super Nintendo World Power-Up Bands, you can get those early, set them up within your app and start playing during early entry.
