DVC Raising Prices June 2022

It's no surprise we're reporting on DVC raising prices in June of 2022. Disney Vacation Club has been around for more than thirty years and per point prices going up is a regular occurrence. The original per point cost back when The Disney Vacation Club Resort, now known as Disney's Old Key West Resort, launched in 1991 was around $50. Things have changed quite a bit!

Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge was $190 before the price increase. Now the per point price at Boulder Ridge has gone up $15 to cost $205. This price increase is pretty notable. Boulder Ridge was the last DVC resort at Walt Disney World Resort under $200. Now any resort near the parks is $200 per point or more when buying from Disney directly. Disney Vacation Club's two beach properties, Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort and Disney's Vero Beach Resort, are still under $200 per point at this time. 

Copper Creek Villas and Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge was $225 before the price increase. Now the per point price at Copper Creek has gone up $15 to cost $240. Unlike additions at The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, Copper Creek and Boulder Ridge are two separate DVC home resorts but both located at Disney's Wilderness Lodge.

Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort was $245 before the price increase. Now the per point price at Copper Creek has gone up $20 to cost $265. That prime real estate next to Magic Kingdom comes with a price.

These new prices were put into effect in late June of 2022. Disney Vacation Club recently raised prices on another set of resorts as well. Back in March of 2022, Disney’s Old Key West Resort, Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas all had prices raised to $200 per point.

Is it a good time to buy Disney Vacation Club?

Though the DVC price increases mentioned above are for those purchasing directly from Disney Vacation Club, resale prices are affected over time as well. Calculate what you would spend on a room on your potential next trip or see the price of one you already have booked. When you compare that to a resale DVC contract price, you might find that two or three regular price room stays equal the amount of a contract that would provide many more years of room stays. There are always annual dues to factor in as well. Still it's likely you'll be pleasantly surprised how much further your money can go with a resale DVC contract when compared to paying cash to book rooms every year.
