More than thirty years later Disney Vacation Club is one of the most popular timeshares out there. Since its origin, prices have steadily gone up over the years. The average Disney Vacation Club price when buying from Disney today is $218 per point. DVC not only rises in price over time but also retains much of its value on the resale market. The DVC Resale price history shows fluctuations but overall a significant rise throughout the years as well. Because of this, when someone wants to know the best time to buy DVC or if DVC prices will go down, the most helpful advice is to buy when you find the contract that's right for you.

Is the DVC Resale Price Per Point Savings Worth it?

DVC can be quite a big spend depending on the size of the contract you buy. Becoming a Disney Vacation Club Member can make Deluxe Disney resort hotel stays much more affordable though. With resale, prices can be even better. In 2022, points at Aulani are sold by Disney for $207 per point. On the DVC resale market, Aulani has been selling for around $118 per point in price. That's an estimated savings of $89 per point. At these rates, on a 150 point contract you would save $13,350. The trade off is that resale DVC doesn't include all of the extra benefits like discounts or access to DVC exclusive spaces. Those perks require new Members to purchase a minimum of 150 points from Disney directly. If you're interested in paying the best possible rate for Deluxe hotel stays at Disney, however, resale is absolutely worth looking into. With the amount you save per point you could purchase a higher point value or put that money toward special event tickets, fancy meals or anything else that will enhance your trips.

Does Disney Vacation Club Have Sales?

Disney Vacation Club doesn't have sales but they offer specials on certain resorts they are actively selling from time to time. These days, DVC is actively selling Memberships at Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas, Ko Olina, Hawaiʻi and Disney's Riviera Resort and The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. Disney Vacation Club savings vary but an example of a special offer is a buy more, save more model. You might be able to save $300 on 150 points or $3300 on 300 points at the Grand Floridian. Usually when these savings are compared to resale, there's no comparison because the prices are just that much better.

Will DVC Resale Prices Go Down?

Over time, DVC resale pricing trends have shown that prices fluctuate from month to month but continue to rise over time. The number of points on a contract can also have an effect on the price. A contract with less points may cost a little more per point while a contract with more points may cost a little less per point. This is good to keep in mind if you follow our DVC average resale price updates and see monthly fluctuations. It's much more likely that DVC prices will go up actually. The price of resale is tied to direct Disney Vacation Club prices and the value of staying at Deluxe Disney resorts. Booking rooms on cash has gotten more expensive over time. Hence, the rise in DVC prices.
