On the Cost of Membership page, the Disney Vacation Club site provides a clear breakdown of prices. This is only for resorts Disney is actively selling though. In early 2024 that's Disney's Riviera Resort, The Villas at Disneyland Hotel, Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas in Ko Olina, Hawai‘i and The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. At $225 per point, buying direct DVC at Disney's Riviera Resort, a 200 point contract would look like this.

What are the resale DVC restrictions?

Before you buy resale, it's good to consider the DVC restrictions that come with secondhand contracts. The differences actually depend on your home resort.

These are probably the most important DVC resale restrictions to most people:

• Resale points do not come with Membership Extras like special events and lounges for Members.
• If you buy resale at Riviera, or resorts built after it, you can only book there.
• If you buy at one of the original 14 DVC resorts, you can book at the rest of them but not Riviera or any property built after.

How to get the best deal on resales when buying DVC?

First of all, you should know the asking price on resales may not be the final price. It may be possible to negotiate with the seller. This isn't possible when buying direct from Disney Vacation Club. They set firm prices and they only change if there is a special offer or if you have an applicable discount. What home resort has resale DVC points that last the longest?

With resales, DVC expirations are still the same as if buying direct. All contracts at the same home resort expire the same year. While a DVC resort may be one of the cheapest options, that doesn't make it the best value. You need to consider the length of a contract to get the true cost.
