Food is always part of the Disney vacation fun. Disney's Riviera Resort restaurants have delicious dining options with spectacular theming. This hotel is inspired by Walt Disney's travels to Europe. The restaurant menus here provide unique finds you won't see anywhere else around Walt Disney World Resort. Riviera is located in the Epcot resort area and conveniently close to many great restaurants. The European charm of the resort flows into each of the few dining venues located at the property itself. With just a handful of eateries in the resort, guests may also want to consider nearby places to eat. Let's take a look at the Riviera dining options.

Riviera Resort Quick Service: Primo Piatto

Primo Piatto serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and is indoors but between both resort pools, making it a good option for a pool day meal. There are classic breakfast options that you'd expect but also fun, sweet dishes. You could dine here in the morning more than once on a single trip with so many choices to be excited about. There are hot meals but also a grab and go pastry and bakery section for those ready for the parks.

For lunch and dinner, Primo Piatto serves hot and cold sandwiches, salads, soups and such. Riviera does a nice job offering something interesting at each restaurant in addition to more approachable foods. The skewer dish delivers a colorful selection of vegetables. Primo Piatto has meals around $15 and under and offers convenient mobile ordering.

Riviera Resort Coffee Shop: Le Petit Café

Le Petit Café in the lobby has coffee and pastries all day. There is some seating in this cutely themed space. Le Petit Café has a small sweets selection behind glass that's pretty to look at. You can expect European inspired treats, like tarts, and something seasonal like a fun cupcake. Right behind Le Petit Café you will find one of the resort's most charming spaces.

Voyageurs' Lounge is a dark, library inspired setting with cozy seating. D23 says Voyageurs' Lounge visitors can expect to see, "A collection of artifacts, including reproductions of items from the Walt Disney Archives, celebrate European storytelling and Walt Disney’s love for travel." This is the perfect spot to enjoy a specialty coffee in.

For room snacks or to stock your mini fridge, try La Boutique merchandise shop. It's right next to Le Petit Café in the resort lobby. It's possible to find quite a few basic grocery items for meals or snacks in your room. Disney's Riviera Resort is a Disney Vacation Club property but anyone can book a room there based on availability. Many DVC accommodations have either a full kitchen or a mini kitchen.

Riviera Character Meal and Signature Dining: Topolino's Terrace

Topolino’s Terrace – Flavors of the Riviera is a rooftop dining venue that's open for breakfast and dinner. It can be tricky to get a reservation here so plan ahead. The restaurant interior is sleek and sophisticated but still comfortable. It feels like California Grill in some ways. Topolino’s Terrace offers a character meal for breakfast. Guests are visited by Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Daisy. Each character is in an artsy outfit you won't see in the parks, making this a neat and different meet and greet. Mickey looks perfect as a painter. Breakfast starts with pastries that come in a themed, cartoon paint bucket with a few different spreads.

There are no characters for dinner but there are plenty of views. Floor to ceiling windows on the tenth floor provide a unique perspective on Florida's colorful sunsets. The dinner menu features upscale French and Italian flavors. Topolino's Terrace also has an outdoor lounge area with distant views of fireworks at Epcot and Hollywood Studios. This is one of the best places to watch fireworks from Riviera Resort.

There is a bar and lounge area in the Topolino's Terrace restaurant that is first come, first served and based on availability. It's possible to walk in, or wait until space becomes available. In the Topolino's Terrace lounge area you are able to order from the full menu. This can really enhance your trip. If you aren't able to grab a reservation, the lounge is located just inside the restaurant and has the same feel and views. You are able to watch fireworks from the outdoor space at the restaurant if you are dining, or drinking, in the lounge.

Riviera Poolside Dining and Lounge: Bar Riva

Bar Riva is at the bigger pool that's further from the lobby. It's an open air location but various seating options and the attention to detail and design make it feel indoors. There is a selection of hot meals, appetizers and a full bar at Bar Riva.

Restaurants Close to Disney's Riviera Resort

In addition to the restaurants and dining locations mentioned above, guests of the Riviera can easily access many other options by riding the Skyliner. The resorts on the Disney Skyliner are Disney's Riviera Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. If you take the Skyliner to the Epcot stop you can also walk to Yacht Club, Beach Club and the Boardwalk. As a guest of Disney's Riviera Resort you can get to Epcot and into World Showcase with little effort. Just inside the International Gateway entrance of the park is the France pavilion. La Creperie de Paris serves a delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner with sweet and savory crepes. The U.K. pavilion is also near the back entrance of Epcot, making for an easy meal in the park.

Tip: Consider Hollywood Studios and Epcot operating hours and if it may be a busy time when using the Skyliner to get around for dining reservations.

If you're up for a scenic walk, there is a path to Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort. There you'll find a great food court and Sebastian's Bistro restaurant with Caribbean flavors.
