The holidays are about to arrive at Walt Disney World, and this November brings decorations, sold-out parties, a few notable closures, and a new round of Disney Vacation Club purchase discounts. Here is what DVC members, and anyone thinking about joining or selling, should know for November 2026.
Information below was current as of November 3, 2026. Dates, prices, and availability can change, so confirm with Disney before you finalize plans.
Holiday Season Starts November 13
The holiday season begins resort-wide on November 13. Expect decorations at all four parks, plus seasonal entertainment such as a Frozen holiday surprise at Cinderella Castle, a holiday light and projection show on Tower of Terror at Hollywood Studios, holiday-themed puppets and the Tree of Life Awakenings holiday edition at Animal Kingdom, and Santa meet-and-greets at Disney Springs. See MickeyBlog's November guide for the full list by park.
EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays
The festival starts November 27 and runs through December 30. The nightly Candlelight Processional at the America Gardens Theatre begins November 27, with shows at 4:45, 6:30, and 8:00 PM. Jordan Fisher narrates November 27 and 28, and Gary Sinese narrates November 29 and 30.
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and Disney Jollywood Nights
Both after-hours events are separately ticketed, and most of November has sold out. As of November 2, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom still listed tickets for November 29 ($214). Disney Jollywood Nights at Hollywood Studios still had tickets for November 16, 21, 23, and 28 ($169 to $199), while November 7 and 14 had sold out. If you own DVC and are planning a holiday trip, book party tickets early, because the best dates go first. Disney's 2026 holiday season announcement has the full schedule.
Closures and Refurbishments to Plan Around
- Tiana's Bayou Adventure (Magic Kingdom): closed from November 2, with a reopening on December 18, 2026.
- Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress (Magic Kingdom): closed since July 6 and expected to return in spring 2027.
- Disney's Typhoon Lagoon: closed for refurbishment since September 9, with no reopening date announced. Disney's Blizzard Beach is the only water park open this fall, though the Slush Gusher slide there is closed for the month.
Animal Kingdom, EPCOT, and Hollywood Studios have no major November closures listed. Check Inside the Magic's November closure list before your trip.
Looking ahead, construction continues in Frontierland at Magic Kingdom, Dinoland at Animal Kingdom, and the former Muppets and Animation Courtyards at Hollywood Studios, so expect construction walls in those areas. Disney Tourist Blog reports that no major new lands or rides open in 2026.
November Crowds: When to Go
Based on Disney Tourist Blog's November forecast, November 2 to 15 is expected to be busy around Veterans Day (Wednesday, November 11). November 16 to 21 looks like one of the best weeks of the month, with decorations up and lighter crowds. Thanksgiving week, starting November 22, is among the busiest of the year, and crowds ease again from November 28.
Disney Vacation Club News
Limited-Time Point Discounts at Five Resorts
Disney is offering limited-time discounts on Vacation Points at Aulani, the Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, Disney's Riviera Resort, and The Villas at Disneyland Hotel. Purchases must be made by December 9, 2026. New buyers qualify on 150 to 499 points, and existing members on 100 to 299 points, and the per-point discount grows with the size of the purchase. At the top tier, the discount is as high as $48 per point at Aulani and $42 per point at the Cabins at Fort Wilderness. Details were reported by Mickey Visit.
These offers apply to direct purchases from Disney. Direct buyers still pay Disney's direct price, which typically runs well above what contracts sell for on the resale market, and direct purchases carry restrictions on how points can be used. If you are buying, compare current resale listings before you commit.
Moonlight Magic at Animal Kingdom
The final fall Moonlight Magic event for members at Walt Disney World takes place at Disney's Animal Kingdom on November 30, with another on December 22. Registration opened in September and is limited to Blue Card members, so renters of DVC points do not qualify. See Disney Tourist Blog's Moonlight Magic breakdown for the registration rules.
