A Disney DVC rental refers to the opportunity to rent a Member's Disney Vacation Club points in an organized fashion. Typically this is done through a DVC rental site that connects Members wanting to rent their points out with those looking to stay on points. The renters pay for the points, or reservation, through the DVC rental site usually using a credit card. 

You can also book a Disney Vacation Club room on the Disney website like you do a hotel room. Availability can be limited as the home resort booking advantage really helps Members get the rooms they want. At your home resort you're able to book eleven months out. Those eligible to book at other Disney Vacation Club properties with their points can do so seven months out.

Each year DVC Members are allotted the amount of points they purchase on their contract. One hundred or one hundred and fifty are pretty common for those who like to vacation a week or so each year. Others who like to stay at Disney hotels for more than one week each year, or in larger accommodations, have bigger contracts or possibly multiple contracts and at different home resorts. There are a lot of options with DVC.
