Disney's Wilderness Lodge is located on beautiful Bay Lake and celebrates the natural magic of the Pacific Northwest. This Magic Kingdom area resort is just a scenic boat ride away from the park. Wilderness Lodge has two Disney Vacation Club ownership options: Boulder Ridge and Copper Creek. When it comes to eating here, guests discover the Wilderness Lodge restaurants are scenic, themed, delicious and fun. Let's take a look at the Wilderness Lodge Resort dining options. Even if you're staying at another resort, it may be worth it to visit this one for a meal.

Wilderness Lodge Restaurants

Grab and Go, Quick Service and Mobile Order

Roaring Fork is the quick service restaurant at Wilderness Lodge. It's located inside through the lobby near the main pool and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can always count on Roaring Fork for Mickey waffles, burgers and campfire themed desserts. Conveniently, there is also a walk up window called Geyser Point Bar & Grill To Go. If you order To Go you can't use the nice, covered seating area around the bar as that is reserved for guests wanting service. There are a few different areas to sit nearby. There is seating near the resort's geyser that goes off on the hour and also a lounge area right on Bay Lake that is uncovered.

For in room snacks or to stock your mini fridge, visit the Wilderness Lodge Mercantile in the lobby. You'll find it next to the photo ready Disney character totem pole featuring Mickey, Goofy, Donald, and Humphrey the Bear. Disney Vacation Club resorts have quite a selection of groceries.

Territory Lounge

The Territory Lounge is found down the hall just off of the back of the lobby. This rustic bar and lounge is filled with woodsy browns. Menu selections include small plates and a full bar. You can also enjoy adult beverages and breathtaking lakefront views at the bar at Geyser Point Bar & Grill. More on that in a minute.

Poolside Dining

Roaring Fork and Geyser Point take out are the best options for poolside dining whether you're at the main pool or Disney Vacation Club area pool. Both are about the same distance from Geyser Point. Roaring Fork is very close to the main pool but still easy to get to from both.

Whispering Canyon Cafe

So you’re thinking about dining at Whispering Canyon Cafe. This is the most themed of the Wilderness Lodge restaurants. Consider this a pep talk to prepare you for a delicious round of antics. If you’ve been, you know just what I mean. And if you’re a first timer, you’re about to discover a place that embodies the term hootin’ and hollerin’. Buckle up for a Whispering Canyon dining review that will have you booking faster than a cowboy can draw. Whispering Canyon Cafe serves breakfast, lunch and dinner in an open setting that feels like part of the resort's majestic lobby. This is one of those Disney famous restaurants. The meals are hearty and the service is heckle-y.

While waiting for my table, someone in Whispering Canyon received what I’m sure is the loudest rendition of the happy birthday song in history. Then, after I was sat, a pack of servers came over picking on each other. When it was time to order drinks, I asked for a water and a Coke. My server was quick to ask if I would really drink the water or just let it sit like a Christmas decoration as is common.

These are the kind of shenanigans you can expect and enjoy on your visit! If this sounds fun you'll certainly want to ask for ketchup and straws. Ask for a small drink and it may show up in the tiniest mason jar you've seen. The same kind of silliness goes for ordering a large soda.. The staff is very fun at Whispering Canyon Cafe, kind of similar to 50s Prime Time Cafe at Disney's Hollywood Studios but more western.

Whispering Canyon Cafe Food

In classic, themed, Disney fashion, the vessels at Whispering Canyon Cafe are fully committed. Biscuit fixings arrive on a skillet style tray. The drink containers are sweet little jelly jars. The salt and pepper shakers look like mason jars. Similarly, when it comes to food, yummy country style selections line the menu. The most popular picks are the skillets. For breakfast, The Heritage skillet is $24.00 per person and includes house-made buttermilk-cheddar biscuits and sausage gravy with scrambled eggs, country potatoes, hickory-smoked bacon, pork sausage links and Mickey-shaped waffles.

What's really exciting about the Whispering Canyon menu is that it offers traditional homestyle foods but also caters to vegetarian, vegan, dairy free and gluten free diners. There is also a plant based skillet! And at $36.00 per person for the unlimited, family style dinner skillets, this is one of the best value dining experiences at Walt Disney World Resort. Ask for more of what you want and you shall receive. Whispering Canyon Cafe is also usually an easier place to get reservation.

Geyser Point Bar & Grill

Geyser Point Bar & Grill is another Disney dining spot to note. There is a bar at this Wilderness Lodge restaurant and lots of comfortable lounge seating overlooking Bay Lake. The water view and wooded yet refined location are really what make Geyser Point one to visit. There is a full menu here and it's a lovely place to dine. Geyser Point is open for lunch and dinner. The menu consists of American style items like a bison cheeseburger, grilled portobello salad and handcrafted crab cake. Sunsets on the water here are a real treat. As for firework views, it is possible to see some Magic Kingdom fireworks from near the water in this area. Near the water here is the best place to see fireworks from Wilderness Lodge. Enjoy a nighttime visit for an appearance by the Electrical Water Pageant!

Storybook Dining at Artist Point with Snow White

Storybook Dining at Artist Point with Snow White offers an exciting experience with the original Disney Princess and other characters from the movie. This may be the most family friendly of the Wilderness Lodge restaurants. Historically, Artist Point was a signature dining restaurant but changed over to character dining in 2018. This highly themed character meal features visits with Snow White, Dopey, Grumpy and the Evil Queen. The menu is prefixed with selections inspired by the original animated feature length film. There is an enchanted forest feel that fits in with the resort's log cabin aesthetic. This Wilderness Lodge dining option is sure to be among your most memorable!

Dining is $65 per person, $39 per child, plus tax and gratuity. The set menu includes a few different items you can choose from each course. Most have names and tastes themed to the restaurant and story like the Hunter’s Pie appetizer which has turkey and chicken, black truffle, cranberry preserve and crispy sauerkraut. Entree choices like the Cottage Beef Stroganoff, which has tender beef, preserved vegetables, spätzle, mushrooms and aged cow's milk cheese, also show off some German flair. For dessert, guests can choose from choices like neatly named Miner’s Treasures, cookies 'n cream panna cotta and chocolate gems, and Fairy Tale Gooseberry Tart, meringue and gooseberry.

Also note, the paved walkway between Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness has not been available since the major construction projects started years ago. However, there is bus transportation between Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness which opens up more dining choices. Fort Wilderness is home to the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue dinner show and Trail's End Restaurant.

In addition to the restaurants and dining locations mentioned above, guests of Wilderness Lodge can get to Disney's Contemporary Resort pretty easily. If you take the boat to Magic Kingdom you can use the pathway to get over to the Contemporary. That also gives you access to the monorail and connected resorts. It's an extra step and will require a bit more time but still feels convenient, especially for the amount of options taking the monorail opens up.
