Benefits of Buying DVC Resale

Benefits of Buying DVC Resale

There’s always something new to see and do at Walt Disney World. Whether it’s that, the amazing food or the nostalgia of your favorite classic attractions that keeps you coming back, you’ll love Disney Vacation Club. Resale DVC, or buying from someone other than Disney directly, can come at a much better price. When you consider the two, the benefits of buying DVC resale are just as enticing! Let’s highlight some of the best benefits of buying DVC resale.

Benefits of Buying DVC Resale

Disney Vacation Club Value

Being a Disney Vacation Club Member lets you book Deluxe hotel stays at prices much better than booking rooms paying cash each year. A quick search for a week night stay over the summer of 2022, showed me a rate of $873 average per night before tax at Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Historically, both cash stays and DVC points have gone up over the years. What’s really exciting to consider is when prices continue to increase, you’ve already paid for decades of hotel stays at the current rate because you own DVC. The only thing that will increase is annual dues and that’s minimal in comparison.

DVC Resale Prices are Even Lower

On top of the savings you get buying DVC over paying cash, resale is even more cost effective. At the same time of the above nightly rate search for Bay Lake Tower, there was a 100 point contract for sale at that resort for $16,700. At those rates, the price of one week long stay booked on cash would cover more than one third of this resale DVC contract at the same resort but offer decades of vacations instead.

DVC Free Parking at Resorts

Disney Vacation Club Members enjoy complimentary parking on their DVC stays. That includes those who purchase resale DVC! Deluxe Resorts now charge $25.00 per night for parking so this is an excellent benefit. Also remember that any time you’re a Disney resort guest you get free self parking at the parks. Overnight parking at a Deluxe resort and daily parking at Magic Kingdom Park would otherwise cost $50 per day! This benefit will save you some serious cash over your stay and over the years.

Booking at Deluxe Disney Resorts

Buying resale at Disney Vacation Club resorts, except for Disney’s Riviera Resort, gives you the flexibility to book at the other original fourteen DVC resorts. Those options include the following Deluxe properties: Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Villas, Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Beach Club Villas, Disney’s Boardwalk Villas, Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, Copper Creek Villas and Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, The Villas at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort, Disney’s Old Key West Resort, Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa and Disney’s Vero Beach Resort. In my opinion, Deluxe resorts offer the best amenities, views and theming and resale DVC makes them the most affordable.

Banking and Borrowing Points with Resale

The basic Disney Vacation Club standard operating procedures are the same with resale. That includes how you book your stays online or getting help over the phone. Banking and borrowing points are a delightful, flexible part of DVC. Choosing to vacation elsewhere this year? Bank your points. Wanting to book a larger villa for a family reunion? Borrow from next year. Resale offers the same possibilities as buying direct in this way.

Home Resort Booking Advantage

Another one of those basic DVC benefits is being able to book at your home resort months before anyone else. This is especially helpful if you like to travel at a particular time and stay at a certain resort. Being able to book eleven months out can ensure you get just what you want.
