Purchase points from Disney and you may be eligible for extras like discounts but you'll usually pay a lot more. Buy resale, from a Member selling their contract, and you can typically get a fantastic rate.

So does it make sense to buy DVC from Disney directly? This is a personal preference based on how you plan to use the Membership and how you like to spend your vacation days.

When buying resale at Boulder Ridge, you'll have more flexibility in booking. That's because it's one of the original 14 DVC home resorts. This puts it in a different category when it comes to resale restrictions. You're able to use DVC resale Boulder Ridge points to book at any of the other original DVC home resorts as well based on availability.

How to Calculate the Cost of DVC

To get the price of DVC, multiply the number of points you plan to buy by the per point price.

If you wanted to buy 150 resale DVC points at Boulder Ridge, you might expect to pay between $14,000 and $15,000 at the $97 rate. Remember this is for years of hotel stays. Disney’s Boulder Ridge Villas contracts expire in 2042.

You’ll also need to consider annual dues which all Members pay for regardless of how they purchase.

For Disney’s Boulder Ridge Villas in 2025, annual dues are $8.68 per point, totaling $1,302 for 150 points.

Upfront there are closing costs and if you’re financing, interest is something else to think about in your total cost of DVC.

Did you know the number of points available changes the price?

The number of points available on a contract also changes the price with resale. If the contract is 150 points, that means you get that amount annually. If the points from the year prior weren’t used and are banked, they are able to be used by the new owner. In contrast, if the seller borrowed points to use from the next year, there will be less points for the new owner to use. What’s right for you will depend on if you’re wanting more points for immediate use or not. It just depends on how and when you plan to book with your contract and if you’d rather pay a little less upfront.
