Disney's BoardWalk Villas stuns guests upon entry. The main lobby at this resort is one of the most enchanting. Large, glitzy chandeliers fill the air, with a special sea horse themed fixture right at the door. The classic decor and vintage theme feel elevated, inviting and cozy at the same time. Pros of Disney's BoardWalk

Disney's BoardWalk has a unique dining and entertainment amenity.

While we've come to know and love wonderful dining options at all of the DVC resorts, BoardWalk has something special. This Disney Vacation Club resort is located at Disney's BoardWalk Inn. It's not just part of the name and theme. There is an actual BoardWalk at this resort. Resort guests have Disney's BoardWalk and its many dining and entertainment options right at their resort.

There are great Disney transportation options at Disney’s BoardWalk Villas.

The location of Disney’s BoardWalk Villas is a dream for those who love Epcot. From this resort you can walk right to the back World Showcase entrance of the park! It's a quick and beautiful walk along the water. There's also a boat that takes you to Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios. At that back entrance of Epcot there is also a Disney Skyliner station. You can take this to Riviera and the main Skyliner hub at Caribbean Beach Resort from BoardWalk. From there you can transfer to Hollywood Studios. There are also busses for the other parks. The close proximity to multiple parks is so nice. BoardWalk Villas is a great resort option for those looking to save time getting to and from the parks.

At Disney's BoardWalk, you can find many different kinds of cuisines. The wide range of dining options at this resort is a major pro. Options include:

• BoardWalk Deli
• Trattoria al Forno

• The Cake Bake Shop

There is additional space on the Disney BoardWalk but we don't know what will fill it quite yet.

Disney's BoardWalk Resort has a gingerbread display.

Each holiday season Disney resort hotels are transformed. Disney's BoardWalk Inn has a lovely display of gingerbread art each year. This is one of just a few deluxe tier resorts that gets something special like this. Not all of the resorts have a gingerbread house or gingerbread display in the lobby. Along with these decorations you'll also find a treat kiosk. Enjoy special gingerbread, chocolate treats and more right at your resort. If you love taking in the holiday decor at Disney World, take a boat or walk around the water to neighboring Yacht and Beach Club Resorts. Both of these have splendid holiday displays as well. Outside at Disney's BoardWalk, the green space is home to a massive Christmas tree for the season. This might be the perfect place for your family's holiday photo.

Disney's BoardWalk Villas is one of the original fourteen DVC resorts.

The opening date of the DVC resort determines what's possible with the contract when you buy DVC resale. When you buy resale at one of the original 14 DVC resorts you are able to use your points to stay at any of the other properties in that category based on availability. If you were to buy at a newer resort, like Disney's Riviera Resort, this would not be the case. You can only use resale points at your home resort when you buy resale at Riviera.

Cons of Disney's Beach Club

Disney's BoardWalk Villas contracts expire in 2042.

Depending on your intentions with Disney Vacation Club, you might not mind this next point. While it's exciting that Disney's BoardWalk Villas is one of the classic DVC resorts, that also means the contract expires earlier than others. This resort debuted early on in 1996. The contracts at BoardWalk Villas expire on January 31st, 2042. That's less than 20 years away. That may be a con for some potential buyers.

If you already have DVC and you're adding on because you love staying at Disney's BoardWalk Villas then it makes sense. If you're not yet a Member and you're looking for the best value, BoardWalk may not be the best option for you. 

Don't let the earlier expiration deter you if BoardWalk is your favorite Disney resort. You can still save when you compare what you're paying for rooms at this resort to BoardWalk DVC resale.

Recent refurbishments are fairly simple.

Disney is known for its phenomenal commitment to themed design. In some cases the interior design and architecture is over the top and takes you to another place altogether. A great example of this is Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge where every corner is detailed. Other venues have a more subtle theme but are committed to an aesthetic. This can be found at Disney's Old Key West Resort. While Disney's BoardWalk Inn has beautiful theming overall, the recently refurbished rooms may seem lackluster to those looking for rich, Disney theming. The lobby, actual BoardWalk and the rest of the spaces are a delight to take in. However, the 2024 Disney's BoardWalk Villas room refurbishment leaves the villas a bit more simple than we've seen at other properties. 

This is all up to personal preference, of course. You may be looking for a room style like this that's less stimulating after being in the crowds of Magic Kingdom all day.
