What Resorts are DVC at Disney World and Elsewhere?

All of the Disney Vacation Club Resorts are in the Deluxe tier of Disney resort hotels. They have nicer amenities, developed themes and sometimes additional transportation methods. There is also a moderate tier and value tier of resorts which are not DVC and we'll go over those below as well.

There are thirteen DVC resorts at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida.

At the rate things have been going, we can expect there will be more on the way. Disney has been very quick to name and build new resorts and take over existing resort areas to convert them to DVC accommodations.

New DVC Resort Being Built at Walt Disney World Resort

There is another DVC resort under construction at Walt Disney World. On the Fort Wilderness property near Wilderness Lodge, Disney Lakeshore Lodge is going vertical. This multistory building takes the place of the proposed Reflections resort that was intended for this spot.

DVC Resorts at Disney World

Animal Kingdom Villas

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas is at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge near the park of the same name. There is an all DVC area of the resort called Kidani Village and also DVC rooms in the Jambo House main resort building.

Bay Lake Tower

Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort is a fifteen story building next to the original 1971 hotel building.

Beach Club Villas

Disney’s Beach Club Villas sits next to Epcot with its own DVC building and a neat, themed lobby inside. It's close to the Skyliner and has a beautiful, coastal theme.

BoardWalk Villas

Across the water, Disney’s BoardWalk Villas charms guests with its old world charm and many restaurants.

Boulder Ridge Villas

Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge has its own awe inspiring building with a cozy, lobby inspired by Walt Disney's love of trains.

Copper Creek Villas and Cabins

Copper Creek Villas and Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is an add on that brought brand new cabins along the waters of Bay Lake and renovated some rooms off of the main lobby into DVC villas.

The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort

The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort is a new Disney Vacation Club resort property as of 2023. The former rustic woodsy style cabins were replaced with a more modern, brighter style.

The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort

The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort has its own DVC building that was constructed in 2013 and another building that was renovated to expand DVC in 2022.

Old Key West

Disney’s Old Key West Resort is the original Disney Vacation Club resort property and hosts a peaceful, tropical nature focused atmosphere.

Polynesian Villas and Bungalows

An original property, Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows has a new tower going up that will increase the DVC rooms at this resort by hundreds.

Riviera

Disney’s Riviera Resort is an all Disney Vacation Club building that celebrates Walt Disney's travels to Europe and has a Disney Skyliner station.

Saratoga Springs

Lastly, Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort is a sprawling, equestrian themed property located across the water from Disney Springs.

A DVC Category of its Own

The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground are in a unique situation as its the only offering of its kind at Disney. This was considered a moderate tier resort. However, Disney has replaced the existing cabins with new ones while transforming this part of the resort into a Disney Vacation Club home resort. Enhancements to the resort overall were also promised. Until this point, all Disney Vacation Club resorts were in the deluxe tier property. This is the first situation of this kind at Disney World. Fort Wilderness offers an exciting array of amenities in the recreation department like archery, canoeing and horseback riding. While it may not be a traditional deluxe resort, these campsites provide a secluded accommodation experience surrounded in nature and adventure.

DVC Resorts Outside of Disney World

Outside of Walt Disney World there are five different DVC resorts in four states.

Vero Beach

Disney's Vero Beach Resort is in Florida about two hours south east on the Atlantic Ocean.

Hilton Head

There's also Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort in South Carolina which is about four hours by car from Disney World.

Grand Californian

Over at Disneyland on the west coast, there's The Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel.

Disneyland Hotel

Disneyland now also has The Villas at Disneyland Hotel which opened in September of 2023 in a building added to the classic resort.

Aulani

The Hawaiian DVC resort is Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas on the island of O'ahu.

What Disney Resorts are Not DVC

Aside from Deluxe resorts, there are also moderate and value tier resorts at Walt Disney World Resort. None of the following moderate and value resorts have a DVC component. However, it may be possible to exchange your points to stay at Disney collection resorts. This is not usually an economic spend of points.

Value Resorts at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida

These are value tier resorts and are not part of DVC:

• Disney's All-Star Music Resort
• Disney's All-Star Sports Resort
• Disney's Art of Animation Resort
• Disney's Pop Century Resort

Moderate Resorts at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida

These are moderate tier resorts and are not part of DVC:

• Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort
• Disney's Coronado Springs Resort
• Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter
• Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside

Value Resort at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California

At Disneyland Resort there is just one other official Disney resort hotel and it is not part of DVC.

The former Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel is now Pixar Place Hotel.

What is the Difference Between Deluxe and Moderate Disney Resorts? What about value resorts?

The main difference between deluxe and moderate Disney resorts is the quality of the resort experience overall. At deluxe resorts, you'll notice finer craftsmanship and more authentic dedication to theming. For example, Disney's Art of Animation Resort, a value property, has over the top, larger than life animated atmospheres and characters around the property. The rooms are very much covered in Disney movie characters and colors. The commitment is nice but the theming is very direct and not sophisticated. Some people love this! It feels like you're in a movie.

However, Disney's attention to detail in theming really shines in hotel properties like Disney's Wilderness Lodge, a deluxe resort. This space is meant to feel like a real lodge and it sure does. The fireplace in the lobby details the layers of the Grand Canyon over many stories. There's a geyser that goes off outside and many cozy places to enjoy around the buildings. The restaurants support the theme of the resort with rustic interiors and views you won't forget. The amenities at deluxe resorts are also much nicer.
