Disney continues to add and update things at the parks. So what are the new rides, shows and restaurants coming to Disney World in 2026? Various projects have been announced over the last few years, like villains land and Cars land at Magic Kingdom. When does it all open? These isn't much to expect so far in 2026 as many projects are still in early phases. There are some offerings that opened recently to mention though. New Disney World Rides 2026 and Beyond: What's coming to Disney World in 2026?

As of now, there is not much opening at Walt Disney World in 2026. Disney has many projects under construction, noted below. However, there are no major attractions or lands opening in this year.

Here are the announcements and opening time periods we have so far.

Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin Opens with Enhancements in 2026

Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin closes in August 2025 for a refurbishment and reopens in 2026. The ride will feature a new scene in the beginning featuring Buddy the robot who will help you prepare with some target practice. The attraction will be enhanced with new ride vehicles that have video monitors that keep the score and new blasters that are handheld. The blasters have a laser that stays on to help you aim. The laser colors in the ride vehicle will vary to give you a better idea of which one is yours. The targets have an update as well and will react when they are hit.

Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run Gets a Mandolorian and Grogu Update

Starting May 22nd, 2026, we can look forward to new missions on the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run attraction. This is the same day the new film The Mandalorian & Grogu hits theaters. With this update, the engineer role will get to interact with Grogu on the ship. The ride update also includes new destinations from across the Star Wars galaxy. First a visit to Tatooine, then either Bespin, Endor or Coruscant depending on what the crew chooses!

What's Coming to Disney Vacation Club Resorts in 2026?

Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa is undergoing refurbishments in the lobby in 2025. A bar is being added next to the piano along with a darker color rug and furniture. Based on what Disney has shared, this should be completed if you visit any time in 2026.

The Disney Lakeshore Lodge is under construction and scheduled to open in 2027.

What's new-ish at Disney World?

If you haven't been in a while, you'll want to know about these Disney World additions as well.

Here are some other things newer things that you'll be able to see and do if you visit in 2026:

• The Spaceship Earth Lounge Epcot venue that overlooks the park and World Showcase and has an exciting firework view. It's for adults only, 21 and up, and you need to a reservation to enter.
• Disney Starlight Dream the Night Away parade dancing through the park and lighting up Main Street U.S.A. at night.
• See Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, and Maleficent in the Disney Villains show at Hollywood Studios.
• Enjoy The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure show, formerly Voyage of the Little Mermaid, at Hollywood Studios featuring songs like “Under the Sea” and “Part of Your World.”
• Ride Test Track again after its reimagining.
• Cheers to sailing the seven seas at the new pirate lounge in Magic Kingdom next to the attraction in Adventureland.
• Go wild at the Zootopia: Better Zoogether! show in the Tree of Life Theater at Disney's Animal Kingdom.

New Disney World Rides and Lands After 2026

There are just a few new and updated rides and offerings at Disney World in 2026.

Additionally, some new lands and attractions are scheduled to debut in the following years.

• The tropical Americas land at Animal Kingdom with Encanto and Indiana Jones opens in 2027.
• The Monsters Inc. Land opens years away at Hollywood Studios, replacing the Muppets area.
• A Disney Villains land is coming to Magic Kingdom at a later date.
• A Cars land will go where the Rivers of America currently is at Magic Kingdom.
