Best Time to Visit Disney World 2026: When Should I Visit?

Disney World is mostly the same throughout the year in terms of attractions. Even water rides, like Tiana's Bayou Adventure, are open year round. The major differences will be the seasonal events offered, if there are any, when you visit. Then there's the weather and crowd situations.

Visiting in 2026 ensures you'll be able to enjoy all that's coming to Disney World in 2025. Here's a quick list of some of the most exciting new additions.

When is the best time in 2026 to go to Disney in Florida?

As of early 2025, Disney has not shared any attractions, rides or lands that will be opening in 2026.

Disney World Winter and Beginning of the Year Offerings

The year starts off at Walt Disney World Resort with Christmas decorations up at the parks and resorts. These usually stay up until mid January, coming down little by little. In early January, visitors have the Walt Disney World marathon weekend to look forward to. There is also the Epcot International Festival of the Arts that usually starts mid January. February brings the Disney Princess Half Marathon weekend to Disney World.

It can be chilly in Florida during January and February. You'll often feel the weather start to warm up by 10:00 am. Layers are always a good idea. It may still be too cold to enjoy pools or water parks but they stay open most of the year.

The beginning of the year can be a slower time to visit compared to the December holiday rush.

Disney World Spring Offerings

In the Spring, Disney has a runDisney weekend with a varying theme every year. The Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival takes over World Showcase with Disney topiaries.

Spring in Orlando, Florida is often a nice time to visit for decent weather. However, weather can be warmer than you might expect, especially if you live somewhere with four seasons. Sunscreen and staying hydrated are a must.

The spring season at Disney can be busy due to spring break and the number of increased visitors that brings. Spring break varies throughout the country but you can expect March and April to have varying crowd levels.

Disney World Summer Offerings

Summers at Disney World often mean new offerings. If there is a new ride or land opening, Disney tries to time it for summer or around May to dazzle summer visitors.

This is the heat everyone talks about. The summer time at Disney World can have very overwhelming heat and humidity. You may want to take afternoon breaks. It's especially difficult in early summer or June if you're not yet acclimated to the warmer temps.

Summers can be quite busy at Disney World as kids are out of school and it's an ideal time to travel for many families. It might be the best time to visit Disney in 2026 simply because it's the only time you can go.

Disney World Fall Offerings

Fall is a lot of fun at Disney World thanks to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom and the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival. Both of these offerings are very popular. The Halloween party requires a separately purchased ticket and the event usually completely sells out. There is also a food and wine themed race weekend in the fall.

The weather can still be pretty hot in September, it just depends on the year. October and November can be warm but don't have that brutal summer sting.

You can find some very quiet pockets of time to visit in during the fall. September is the quietest month of the year. The week after labor day, when kids go back or are preparing to go back to school, may be the quietest week of the year.

Disney World Holidays

During the holiday season, Walt Disney World Resort in Florida turns into a winter wonderland. The parks and resorts are decorated beautifully. There are three special events to celebrate the season: Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, Jollywood Nights at Disney's Hollywood Studios and the Epcot International Festival of the Holidays. 

The temperatures are much easier to manage this time of year. Florida can have warm days any time of the year but this season often has decent outdoor weather.

In November and December, the crowds can really pick up at Disney World. Christmas week is often the busiest of the year with New Year's celebrations historically filling some parks to capacity.

What will be gone from Disney World in 2026?

There's a good chance 2025 and 2026 will present the final opportunity to enjoy beloved attractions. As new things debut, sometimes old favorites close. We don't have all of the information on when but we know the following offerings will be going away to make room for new magic.
