Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Overview

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a separately ticketed event. If you have a ticket or annual pass that allows you to visit Magic Kingdom during the day, the park will close at 7:00 p.m. and you will need an additional ticket to enjoy Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. It’s frightful fun but, like the name says, not so scary. This family friendly event has a little something for everyone who likes the cute side of spooky season. Characters in their Halloween costumes, trick or treating for all ages and themed fireworks are some favorites that keep people coming back every year. There are also ride enhancements like actual pirates at Pirates of the Caribbean. Everyone can dress up for Halloween which is extra special considering costumes are not otherwise permitted in the parks.

When will Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party 2024 information be announced?

Details of the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party event are usually released in the spring of the same year.

Last year, dates and information were announced on April 20th with tickets going on sale for resort guests on April 27th.

We will share updates and new information as it becomes available to help you plan your spooky night out!

For now, we have an overview of the event and information from last year so you can get an idea for what to expect.

Disney Halloween Fireworks 2024

For many years, Hallowishes was the Disney fireworks show at these events. If you haven’t been in a few years, Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular is the current fireworks show at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. This is a 12 minute, perimeter firework show that is best viewed from Main Street, U.S.A. or the hub area or somewhere between the two. It can be seen from many places around the park though if you’re up for casual viewing. The nice thing about Disney Halloween fireworks is that there are far fewer people and you don’t have to stake out a spot early. It’s possible to walk up as the show is starting and get a great view.

Magic Kingdom Halloween Parade

Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade is the premier entertainment at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. You can expect to see many Disney characters in their Halloween costumes and a spectacular Haunted Mansion themed mega unit. Haunted Mansion grave diggers make sparks fly with their shovels and ballroom dancers from the attraction waltz by. It’s all quite magical! The Magic Kingdom Halloween parade is about 20 minutes long. The parade route runs from the Frontierland entrance through the park, down Main Street, U.S.A. and exits near the barber shop. This is a twice nightly happening with the route the same each showing.

Other Disney Halloween Party Entertainment

The castle stage show is Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. The Sanderson Sisters from the popular film grace the stage for some spooky fun. The Cadaver Dans Barbershop Quartet is also a sight to see as well as a sound to hear. If you love the Dapper Dans, this ghostly version of the show will delight you in Frontierland. You can also meet some rare characters around the park. In the past, Jack and Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas had the longest line. Check the official website before the event for this year’s information. There is also usually fun pre-parade entertainment that rolls down Main Street!

DVC Resorts Close to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party

Walt Disney World has great transportation options at every resort. When you’re planning for super late nights, like at Not So Scary, sometimes it’s nice to stay nearby. Magic Kingdom area resorts are some of the best in terms of theming, amenities, fireworks views and overall location.

The walking path from the Contemporary to Magic Kingdom is the shortest of all resorts. It’s quite the treat to have this option when the monorail line is long or you just want to get back to your resort as quick as possible. Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort also has a monorail station in the main building. There is also a bus available during inclement weather.

The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort has a walking path directly to Magic Kingdom. It’s on the Seven Seas Lagoon with beautiful views but feels a bit farther than walking to Bay Lake Tower. The main lobby of the Grand Floridian also has a monorail station and there is boat transportation on the Seven Seas Lagoon. Bus transportation is provided during inclement weather.

Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows has access to the same walking path at the Grand Floridian that takes you to Magic Kingdom. The walking route is a bit longer because you need to walk to, then through the Grand Floridian first. However it’s a nice option to have. The Polynesian is also conveniently located on the monorail line and there is boat transportation on the Seven Seas Lagoon here as well. Guests will be able to take a bus during inclement weather.

Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Copper Creek Villas and Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge are two fabulous home resorts at one beautiful property. Guests staying at either can access Magic Kingdom via bus or boat transportation across Bay Lake and the Seven Seas Lagoon.
