Over the last few years, Disney's flagship resort has been almost completely refurbished. From every roof to every restaurant, the Grand Floridian is freshly updated. Disney’s Grand Floridian Lobby Renovation  

• A new Grand Floridian lobby bar will debut in place of the bird cage across from the elevators. This is a wooden style structure, deviating from the otherwise bright shades in the lobby.
• The floor also goes a darker direction with a floral print carpeting in jewel tones.
• A quick glance at the furniture in the artist concept, shared on Disney's official blog, shows some more modern pieces than we've seen at this Victorian inspired resort.
• Palm trees are a focal point and placed around the Grand Floridian lobby, adding greenery at a higher level.
• It looks like famous visuals like the second floor railings and the chandeliers will remain.
• One thing Disney fans will want to know is if the iconic Grand Floridian Disney character floors will stay. You may remember seeing silhouettes of Peter Pan and the crew on the flooring if you came in to the lobby through the side entrance. Mrs. Potts and Chip are perfectly placed near the tea room. The rendering doesn't specifically show if these will stay or go.

Is the Grand Floridian team room being renovated?

The tea room also looks to be updated in the artist concept! Nothing was mentioned about The Garden View Tea Room in the Disney Parks Blog article so we'll have to wait for an update.

The Grand Floridian tea room has been closed since 2020 when all of Walt Disney World Resort shut down. It was open during the 2024 holiday season next to the gingerbread house as extra lobby seating.

Is the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique open?

The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is still "Temporarily Unavailable." This location has also been closed since 2020. This Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique took over the space of the hair salon that used to be there on the second floor of the lobby. Salon services are now done in a small room in the spa.

Will the Grand Floridian have the gingerbread house in 2025?

The iconic gingerbread house at this resort usually goes up in early November and stays up through early January. Sadly, due to the construction in this space the Grand Floridian gingerbread house display will not go up in 2025.

Earlier in 2025 Disney shared this but timelines sometimes change with construction:

“Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa will be receiving enhancements to select areas in phases, including the lobby and convention center, from April through November 2025. Guests may see and hear construction during daytime hours, and portions of the lobby will be closed at times. All pools and most resort dining and other amenities will remain available. Please allow extra time for travel, as path adjustments may be in place.”
