When do new DVC point charts come out?

You can expect the latest DVC point charts to come out near the end of the year in late November or early December. When DVC point charts come out, they are for two years ahead, not the year that immediately succeeds the current one. For example, the Disney Vacation Club point charts for 2025 came out in November of 2023. The DVC point charts for 2024 were released around the same time in 2022. You can expect to have Disney Vacation Club Point Charts debut just over a full year in advance of the calendar year.

Why do DVC point charts change?

DVC point charts change a little bit each year depending on when holidays fall. A major component of the point charts is when peak times are anticipated at a resort. These peak times help redistribute points in a way that makes sense based on demand. Most of the popular times to visit Disney destinations are when school breaks occur. School breaks are based around when certain holidays happen each year. Some change a little bit every year. For example, Thanksgiving is always the fourth Thursday of November. These kinds of fluctuations cause Disney Vacation Club point charts to change a bit each year.

Can DVC Members use their points at any resort?

Members who purchase through DVC resale can not use their points at certain resorts. Those who purchase resale DVC points at one of the original 14 DVC resorts can use their points at their home resort and at any of the other original resorts. Those who purchase resale at Disney's Riviera Resort or resorts built after can only use their points to book at their home resort.

Is it worth it to use your DVC points for a Disney Cruise Line cruise?

While you're thinking about how to use your points, a cruise might sound like an option. While it's possible, it's not the best spend of your points. It's only an economic option if you purchased Disney Vacation Club very early on and paid a low per point price.

What if I decide I need more DVC points after looking at the point chart?

You have options if you need more DVC points. You can use one time use points by purchasing them for a specific trip through Disney Vacation Club. If you need more points regularly, consider adding on DVC points. You can buy an additional contract with the same use year at the same resort. Having the same use year makes it easier to use all of your points from different contracts together.

Does resale use the same Disney Vacation Club point charts?

Yes, both direct DVC and resale DVC Members use the same Disney Vacation Club point charts. Operationally, DVC is nearly the same whether you buy resale or direct. Booking, banking, borrowing and annual dues all work the same as well.
