Magic Kingdom DVC Lounge: Everything You Want to Know

As the first and only Magic Kingdom DVC lounge, McKim's Mile House brings a new place for Members to relax and get out of the sun on theme park days.

Where is the Magic Kingdom DVC Lounge?

McKim's Mile House is located in the heart of Frontierland at Magic Kingdom.

You'll find McKim's Mile House Magic Kingdom DVC lounge between The Diamond Horseshoe and the Frontier Trading Post store.

This is one of a few different Walt Disney World Resort DVC lounges. This Frontierland DVC lounge pulls from the surrounding area for its theme as a rustic hideaway inspired by the old American west.

What's in the DVC lounge at Magic Kingdom?

Disney says you'll find the following inside:

• a place to refresh and recharge
• comfortable seating
• complimentary soft drinks
• dedicated Disney Vacation Club Member Services team
• complimentary Wi-Fi
• Frontierland gold rush era interior to explore

What are the Magic Kingdom DVC lounge hours?

McKim's Mile House is open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

How long is the wait to get into the Magic Kingdom DVC lounge?

When it first opened, the wait for the Magic Kingdom DVC lounge was hours long. That doesn't mean you have to stand there all of that time, of course. You can expect to receive a text when it's your turn to enter. When you approach, you will be asked how many are in your party. Seating is arranged inside in different size party groups and your host will usher you to the area meant for you. This is a little different than other DVC lounges where you wait your turn and enter when it's your time, choosing whatever seats are available.

With the popularity of the new Magic Kingdom DVC lounge, we can probably expect it to be quite busy throughout the summer, fall and holidays. If you want to just see it, going first thing in the morning might be your best bet. A rest in the air conditioner is always nice in Florida so even if you sign up for the list and aren't called for a few hours, you'll know you have a time to see it and relax during the day.

There is one way to bypass the line. In 2024, Disney Vacation Club started selling the Membership Magic Beyond. One of the perks of this benefits package is getting to skip the line at the DVC lounges. On opening day, one Member waited only thirty minutes with Membership Magic Beyond. The wait otherwise at this time could have been three hours.

Who can visit the DVC lounge at Magic Kingdom?

Members who have access to Membership Extras, and their guests, can enter McKim's Mile House and other DVC lounges based on availability. That means, as a new Member in 2025, you would need to purchase 150 points directly from Disney to enjoy this space.

What does McKim's Mile House mean?

In short, McKim's Mile House is like an old west rest stop named after Imagineer Sam McKim.

During the 1800s in America, a mile house was like an inn or hotel. In the gold rush era a mile house, often just outside of town, served as a place for those to park their stagecoach and horses and rest.

McKim comes from Disney Legend Sam McKim. He was a child actor who appeared in westerns. Sam McKim also had an extensive military career. Later in life, Sam McKim was a sketch artist and worked for the mouse. He was a concept artist for Disneyland. McKim helped shape the feel of the Frontierland we love as park goers today.
