Single rider lines can be incredibly helpful in maximizing your day at a theme park. They’re great for solo travelers but also for those who are the only one​ brave enough, or able to ride, in a travel party. Enjoying ​an attraction as a single ​r​ider is a great option for ​r​e-riding ​once you’ve already enjoyed ​a​n attraction together​ as a group too. Will you be in the same ride vehicle if you go in the single rider line?

No, you should be prepared to ride by yourself with other guests if you get in the single rider line. There is sometimes a chance you may be in the same ride vehicle as someone if you both go in the single rider line. It's never a guarantee though. If there are many parties with an odd number of people, let's say parties of three, you both may be called to even out the amount of people and fill each seat.

Is the single rider line always shorter at theme parks?

Getting in the single rider line at any ride is usually a game of chance. You can often expect the single rider line to help you get on the attraction faster than the standby line. However, it really depends on how many people fit into a ride vehicle and how many people are in the parties boarding the attraction at the time. There are always less people in the single rider line than other lines though.

Can you buy an Epic Universe Express Pass?

In addition to single rider li​nes, Universal Orlando ​Resort does have a skip the line style pass.

A​t the other park​s, Universal Studios and ​Islands of Adventure, ​those staying at ​t​he higher priced resorts are given access to the ​Express​ Pass for free. This is an incredible value as these can cost hundreds of dollars per person, per day in the busiest of times.

Universal Orlando Resort's website says this:

"This is the first phase of ticket options for Epic Universe. Additional ticket products, including single-day tickets and Universal Express Passes, will be available before the park opens."

Some attractions do not ​​accept​ Express ​Pass. Single rider line​s can come in handy for those.

Should you use single rider line or child swap at Epic Universe?

If you're looking into single rider lines because you have a little one who can't ride, you may actually want to research attractions with child swap. This ensures that your party only has to wait in the line once and allows multiple members of your party to ride together.

In another scenario, let's say your group is two parents and a child who is too small to ride. If both parents want to ride, they can all wait in the standby line. When it gets close to boarding, a team member will direct one parent and the child to wait in the designated child swap room or area while the first parent rides. Then they swap places and the second parent gets to ride as the first parent waits with the child. Child swap keeps your party together and is often more convenient than the single rider line. However, the single rider line may move faster.

In the Universal app you can look at each attraction to see if child swap is offered.
