Disney Vacation Club resorts have an impressive amount of transportation options. While anyone can use these modes of transport, it's most convenient when they are accessible right from your resort.

Note that while resorts may offer a certain kind of transportation, it may not go to all of the parks. That includes busses which may not be offered to some theme parks if other options are available. One example of this is that there may not be a bus from Disney's Wilderness Lodge to Magic Kingdom because it offers a boat in lieu of the bus.

Which DVC resorts are on the monorail?

Monorails are a Disney favorite. Having one at your resort is the best! There are two different monorail lines at Disney World: the express line and the resort line. You can only access the express line from Magic Kingdom and the Transportation and Ticket Center. This is convenient if you're trying to get to Magic Kingdom or Epcot faster. It won't stop at the resorts on the monorail though so keep that in mind to use it efficiently.

The resort you're staying at determines how long it will take to get other places on the monorail. For example, those staying at Disney's Contemporary Resort will be the first stop after Magic Kingdom. The Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) is next, then the Polynesian, then the Grand Floridian and the loop continues. Those going to or coming from Epcot will transfer at the TTC.

There is also a monorail at Disneyland Resort that's within walking distance of both DVC resorts there. It takes guests into the Disneyland park at the Tomorrowland station. You must have a park ticket in order to ride it because it drops you off inside of the Disneyland theme park.

Which DVC resorts have boat transportation?

There are quite a few different kinds of Disney boats you can experience at Walt Disney World Resort. Your resort, where you are headed and the time of day, can determine what boat transportation is available to you.

Which DVC resorts are on the Disney Skyliner?

This high flying form of Disney transportation is the most unique. The Disney Skyliner is fast and convenient. There are only a few Disney Skyliner resorts, though, and only one of them is a Disney Vacation Club home resort. While anyone can ride the Skyliner, it may not be easy to get to unless you're staying at one of the connected properties.

Do all DVC resorts have Disney buses?

While it seems like every Disney resort would have bus transportation, it's a little more complicated than that. Some properties offer other kinds of transportation certain places and, because of that, don't offer a bus there. There are some resorts that only have bus transport, like Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. Other resorts, like Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, may have busses to other parks but not to Magic Kingdom because of the other ways to get there from the property.

Which DVC resorts are within walking distance of a Disney Park?

Whether or not you can walk to a park is all about location. Most parks near a resort will just have the one within walking distance. There are a few that allow you to walk to more than one park.

Do you need a ticket or room key to use Disney transportation?

Disney transportation is complimentary to all visitors. You do not need to be staying at a resort to use the monorail, skyliner, buses or boats. Therefore, you do not need to tap your Magic Band or show a room key or ticket to ride.

Does Disney transportation like the skyliner and monorail still run in the rain?

Florida is known to have severe weather like torrential downpours on summer afternoons and hurricanes later in the year. Disney World is open 365 days a year and rarely closes due to weather. Even when it's raining, many attractions and shows still operate. For example, you may still see a firework show in light rain. It's wind and lightning that can really put a damper on your vacation. The Disney Skyliner, boat transportation and the monorail will not operate in severe weather. When the weather impacts the regular DVC resort transportation, Disney buses take over in places where they may not usually be offered.

Does Disney transportation still go during fireworks?

Yes, you can still catch a monorail, skyliner, bus, boat or use the walking paths during the fireworks at Disney World. If you time it right, you can enjoy Disney fireworks from up in the sky on your own skyliner gondola. The fireworks are awesome from the monorail too.
