3 Pros and Cons of Starwars Galactic Starcruiser

Disney Galactic Starship Lightsaber Training

This week was the launch of the highly anticipated Star Wars Hotel Experience, Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser. Star Wars fans everywhere were refreshing their phones for updates when Disney announced the one of a kind experience in 2019. The Walt Disney World Company invited social media influencers last week to be the first on board of the Star Wars world, Lady Halcyon. The first reviews are in and we’ve created a Pro/Con’s list for you, but don’t let us tell you what side you are on. Here’s a recap of what guests are saying so far.

It’s expensive.

CON: Let’s get this one out of the way first. As you might have read by now, for a family of four to stay on the Galactic Starcruiser- Lady Halcyon, you are probably going to shell out about five to six thousand dollars. (That’s a lot of TinkerBell Tooth Fairy money.) A lot of guests are having trouble getting over the price tag comparing it to a stay at another nearby Disney resort, which is  like comparing Blue Milk to Yoda’s Stew. That last one was for the real fans to which this experience is deemed priceless.

PRO: It’s cheaper than a family of four actually going to space and the wifi on planet earth is way more reliable than near the other planets.

You’re a part of the story.

PRO: You and your Star Wars loving family will have the chance to be totally immersed in the plot of the story and playing it out over the two day adventure. For all the little Yoda’s and Princess Leia’s out there, this is your chance to be IN your favorite series- which is something that was not available until now. Fans that bleed the light side (or dark side) will truly be living their dream come true; which is what Disney does best. The character actors are said to be the highlight of adventure and encourage you to play the part you’ve been dreaming about since the first time you pretended to swing a lightsaber.

CON: It only lasts two days and most Star Wars fans would like it to become their new normal. Some fans did speculate that they might feel forced to participate in the experience more than they are comfortable with and for the less outgoing guests, this does not seem to be an issue at all. This is Disney and they have taken all their guests’ needs to heart. May the force be with you…unless you don’t want to, then you can just watch.

Star Wars Everywhere.

PRO: Reviews are in and everything from the restaurant food presentation to the bathroom floor tiles are made to feel like you are actually in a space shuttle. This is all to immerse you in the storytelling even more, and Disney knows story telling.

CON: Because you will actually be in “space”, space is limited in the hotel rooms and it is dark inside the entire two days to simulate cruising alongside the stars.

Recap: If you are a Star Wars family, this should definitely be on your bucket list. If you are more of a fan of planet earth, don’t worry. Disney has a million other ways to bring the magic to you and your loved ones.
