DVC Riviera Cost and Resort Details

Disneys Riviera Resort view from top floor

Many Disney Vacation Club resorts have been around for decades and are well known and loved. You may have even stayed at some and enjoyed the property and amenities before they were part of DVC. For example, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa is a Magic Kingdom area treasure and is fairly new to DVC. Still, guests knew this historic hotel when it was introduced as a new home resort option in 2013. Things are different when a brand new resort is built and there is all new magic to discover. Disney’s Riviera Resort debuted in 2019 in a fabulous location near Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This ten story property has a luxe interior, fine finishes and timeless decor. Let’s go over the DVC Riviera cost along with highlights of the property and some intriguing details at this home resort.

DVC Riviera Cost: Resale vs. Direct

Even though Disney’s Riviera Resort is a newer home resort property that opened in the last few years, it’s still possible to save when buying resale. When buying direct, Disney’s Riviera Resort is sold for $207 per point. In 2022, the average resale price per point for Disney’s Riviera Resort could be around $137 depending on the contract. That’s an estimated savings of $70 per point when buying resale. On a 100 point contract, that’s a $7000 difference. On a 215 point contract with a per point price of $139, the savings compared to resale would be more than $14,600. That’s significant. The deeds for Disney’s Riviera Resort expire in 2070.

Disney Riviera Resort Dining, Location and More to Love

Disney fans will love Disney’s Riviera Resort for a few different reasons. As soon as you pull into the property you’re welcomed by the charming fountain that flows under the entryway. The entrance to this resort feels inviting and elevated. Though the lobby is quaint, it has lovely views. The gift shop, with lots of branded merchandise and luxe items, and a cute coffee shop, with a selection of pastries, are located in the lobby. Riviera is a nice size but still easy to get around.

Riviera’s location is a dream with Disney Skyliner access to two of Walt Disney World Resort’s four parks. Having a Disney Skyliner stop right at the resort is a major plus. One line will take you directly to Epcot. The other line will take you to the central Disney Skyliner hub with options to transfer to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and other resorts. This continuously moving gondola system gets you to and from the parks rather quickly and has phenomenal views of Walt Disney World you can’t see any other way. Disney’s Riviera Resort is also within walking distance of Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. The beautiful path along the water takes you to additional dining options or to the main Skyliner hub which is at Caribbean Beach. Though unofficial and not listed on the point charts, it’s possible to get a room with firework views at Riviera by surprise. The building’s proximity to Epcot gives rooms facing that direction a chance to see fireworks light up the sky. Many of the efficient Tower Studio rooms are known to have a great view of Epcot fireworks.

With an all new resort comes new restaurants to discover. The dining at this resort is unique and done well. Topolino’s Terrace – Flavors of the Riviera is a character breakfast by day and enchants guests with rooftop firework views at night. Diners can enjoy a sit down, fine dining experience or a casual, walk-in meal or drinks in the lounge. The quick service restaurant Primo Piatto has typical selections and a little something special at each meal. Le Petit Cafe in the Disney’s Riviera Resort lobby serves coffee and sweets but also wine in case you want to enjoy an adult beverage later in the day. The adjoining dark and cozy library is the perfect place to unwind. See more in our Riviera Dining Guide.

Something else that will enchant you among the bright halls is the nostalgia and art. Inspired by Walt Disney’s trips to Europe, Disney’s Riviera Resort hosts a collection of gallery walls that will stop you in your tracks. Black and white photos of Walt and his travels add a special touch to the bright, chic interiors. These happy memories are joined around the resort by Disney movie posters in different European languages. The piece de resistance is in the outdoor corridor that leads to the Skyliner. Floor to ceiling mosaics line the walls and pass overhead with stunning tile work representing iconic scenes from Peter Pan and Tangled. The rooms also feature interesting art in line with the rest of the resort’s magical and European appeal in decor. Riviera is a Deluxe tier Disney hotel, as are all Disney Vacation Club home resorts, and has dainty touches that reflect luxury. The main pool here certainly reflects the Deluxe standard with a Fantasia themed kids water play area and a winding waterslide.

DVC Riviera Restrictions

Buying resale at Disney’s Riviera Resort does come with some restrictions. However, if this is your favorite resort or a place you’d like to stay every year, don’t let that deter you from buying a resale contract here. With resale at Riviera, you’re not able to use your points to book at other DVC resorts. Also, only resale Members who purchase at Riviera can use their points to book there. For someone who loves all of the magic Riviera has to offer, resale presents a fantastic opportunity to own at a better price. If you’re undecided, remember you can always book a dining reservation at Disney’s Riviera Resort to visit or rent points to get the full idea of what it’s like to stay and be a Member there.
