Disney vacations mean food festivals, fantastic fireworks and fairy tale fun. And when you’re a Disney Vacation Club Member, there’s always another trip ahead! Resale Disney Vacation Club is the way to join at a much lower cost. When you become a Disney Vacation Club Member, you’ll surely be excited to get your Member Number, Membership Card and, of course, your points! Let’s chat about timelines you can anticipate on your way to becoming a DVC Member through resale.
Resale DVC: How Long to Get Membership Card?
For starters, we have a post outlining the whole timeline: how long does it take to buy DVC resale. Before the time period of going under contract to getting your Membership Card, remember there are other steps like looking for and finding the right contract, placing a bid and potentially negotiating before having your offer accepted. You can see what’s currently available in our resale DVC listings. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, get in touch and join the DVC Resale Experts Buyer Wish List. The Experts will be on the lookout for you and you’ll be contacted as soon as the right fit becomes available. Once you find the right contract, you’ll submit an offer. This is a great time to consult with your Expert. You should hear back about your offer fairly quickly unless the person selling DVC points has let us know in advance they will be unavailable on a certain day or for a certain time period.
New Members get their Disney Vacation Club ID and activation code within four to five weeks after closing. This gives them access to their digital Disney Vacation Club Membership Card which is now accessed in the My Disney Experience App. Recently, most have gone under contract to close in right around forty-six days on average. So, six to seven weeks total from the time you go under contract is an accurate time period to anticipate getting your Membership Card. It could happen sooner but, for planning purposes, six to seven weeks is a reasonable expectation.
If you are a Disney Vacation Club Member adding on, you have a Membership Card already and this change won’t affect it. The new contract will appear in your Membership Portal within the next seven to ten business days. Side note: If you add on points with the same Use Year, you will just have the one member number.
