THE START OF EPCOT’S INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF THE HOLIDAYS

Epcot International Festival of the Holidays

Just as all the leftovers are done being put away into those Holiday themed ZipLoc bags, Disney’s Christmas celebrations get even bigger, bolder, and more magical! The day after Thanksgiving, November 26th, Epcot is opening up the Holiday Cookie Stroll and The Candle Light Processional.

As mentioned in our previous blog, Disney World Thanksgiving Tips. Epcot will begin it’s annual Holiday Cookie Stroll where sugar lovers can stroll through the World Showcase with their Festive Passports and collect stamps for all 5 of the Disney Signature Holiday cookies. The official locations have finally been announced are listed below:

*American Holiday Table : Chocolate Crinkle Cookie made with DOVE® Dark Chocolate

*Bavaria Holiday Kitchen: Linzer Cookie

*Holiday Hearth Desserts: Gingerbread Cookie

*L’Chaim! Holiday Kitchen: Black and White Cookie

*Yukon Holiday Kitchen: SNICKERS®-Doodle Cookie with SNICKERS® bar pieces

Remember, after you’ve collected all five cookie stamps, you will receive a specialty Holiday

Cookie for completing the challenge. ( I always thought it was challenge not to eat five Holiday cookies in a day. Reason #122521 Why we love Disney! )

What’s more magical than Disney and Christmas?

That’s not a riddle. I can’t think of anything more magically merrier either.

Cue: Epcot’s Candlelight Processional

Even though all stores in November and December are filled with 40% off signs in red and green- Disney does not let us forget the true meaning of Christmas. This tradition dates back to 1958 in Disneyland and has been with WDW since the park opened in 1971. Candles are lit and  held as the biblical story of Christmas is told by a celebrity with a whimsical symphony background that could bring a tear to Ursula herself. The line up is as follows:

*Auli’i Cravalho

November 26 through November 28

*Chita Rivera

November 29 through December 1

*Jodi Benson

December 2 through December 4

*Alton Fitzgerald White

December 5 through December 7

*Bart Millard

December 8 through December 10

*Lisa Ling

December 11 through December 13

*Andy Garcia

December 14 through December 16

*Ana Gasteyer

December 17 through December 19

*Courtney B. Vance

December 20 through December 22

*Steven Curtis Chapman

December 23 through December 25

*Blair Underwood

December 26 through December 28

*Pat Sajak

December 29 through December 30

This lineup is an early holiday gift to us all! And if you think that is impressive, you should see what Epcot is cooking up on its Holiday Kitchens menu. Stay tuned and save some room…there’s more holiday food and fun coming your way!
