Animal Kingdom Summer Updates

Finding Nemo The Big Blue and Beyond

Disney just announced that there will be more entertaining enhancements to one of our favorite parks: Animal Kingdom. With social distancing requirements dropping, and more attractions reopening, it seems like Spring is the season that Disney World is blooming back to its original pre-pandemic magic world. ( with a few exceptions) Animal Kingdom waking up from hibernation and will be making a big ROAR and SPLASH this Summer.

Festival of the Lion King: This show is a crowd favorite, and no matter how many times you see it – leaves you with joy in your heart and possibly a tear in your eye. Just me? It’s a staple of your Animal Kingdom day and this summer Disney is excited to announce the return to its original show. The monkeys are back people! If you have seen the Festival of the Lion King within the last two years, you probably have noticed the beloved zany stunt monkeys have been missing. The show has been modified to “A Celebration of Festival of the Lion King” due to the pandemic… until this summer! The Festival of the Lion King will be back and will include the trampoline and acrobatic stylings from the fan favorite monkeys and gorgeous birds. The birds were another missed guest favorite that have flown from the skies and have been grounded for the modified version of the show. They will take their dance they have been performing the last two years back to the skies and we cannot wait to watch their return.

Disney KiteTails: Speaking of skies, Disney’s KiteTails, a new show introduced during the 50th Anniversary Celebration, is adding more shows throughout the day due to popular demand. The 30 feet long kites resembling our Lion King favorites, will be able to be seen on the Discover River Lagoon. During Disney’s Kitetail’s intermissions, Discovery River Lagoon will be displaying a new show, on the water. Character Flotilla will sail along the rivers, and fill the park with Disney soundtracks several times each day. The boats will have characters on them like Mickey, Minnie, Timon, and Pocahontas, just to name a few!

Finding Nemo: The Big Blue…And Beyond

This show featuring our favorite underwater friends, Dory, Nemo,Marlin and more is set to make a splash this Summer 2022 in Dinoland USA. The show is promised to be filled with puppets, singers, dancers, and make a real splash. No official date has been released as of now, but we can’t wait to see what our underwater friends have been up to…Whale calling? Swimming with Turtles? Getting stuck in a dentist fish tank? We won’t have to wait much longer!
