Can You Sell DVC Resale?

Can You Sell DVC Resale?

DVC is different than other timeshare opportunities. For starters, Disney Parks and destinations continue to grow in popularity. Disney raises prices on DVC points regularly and, yet, they just keep selling. Disney Vacation Club resale also stays in demand and, in most cases, goes up in price over time. But can you sell DVC resale? Meaning can you sell Disney points that you didn’t buy from Disney?

Can You Sell DVC Resale?

This is an important question because there are some differences in DVC Memberships bought directly from Disney Vacation Club and bought from someone else. In order to receive all of the DVC Member Extras, new Members currently need to purchase a minimum of 150 points directly from Disney. These kinds of perks include discounts, Member events and full booking flexibility. However, when it comes to how resale DVC contracts work, much is the same including selling your contract. When you buy a resale DVC contract you become the new owner with your name on the contract and take over the annual dues. It’s a complete transfer.

Any Disney Vacation Club Member can sell DVC points, regardless of where they bought their contract. So, yes, you can absolutely sell DVC resale. Selling DVC points is easy with the help of a real estate professional. The process is the same whether you bought from Disney or bought a resale contract.

Knowing you can still sell a resale DVC contract gives you more freedom and flexibility. Disney Vacation Club may be a very exciting commitment for you now. However, if your taste changes in the future or you decide it’s no longer a good fit for any reason, you always have the option to sell. Unlike other timeshares, DVC points maintain much of their value. Those who bought early on can often sell DVC contracts for more than they paid originally.
