Disney Vacation Club Resale Points

What’s so magical about Disney Vacation Club Resale Points?

Well first of all, the price! Disney Vacation Club resale points are sold by someone other than Disney directly. When you buy a contract from a Member instead of Disney, the per point prices are much lower and there’s a chance that the contract is negotiable. The price of resale is often thousands less overall. Resale makes Disney Vacation Club much more affordable. There is also transparency when it comes to resale DVC listings. You can see available inventory and all of the details of those contracts, including proposed pricing, at any given time.

Are Disney Vacation Club Resale Points the same as buying from Disney?

Disney Vacation Club Resale works the same as if you bought your points from Disney in most ways. You still have a home resort and eleven month booking advantage there. Resale DVC Members can bank and borrow points the same. You get free parking with DVC resale just as you would buying from DVC directly and, of course, still get free parking at the parks for being a resort guest. You can let someone else use your resale DVC points. You can rent them out and also sell DVC points you purchase on the resale market. Booking is done on the same platform. Resale DVC Members also qualify for all of the resort perks like early entrance and late access to the parks when available. When it comes to these types of functionalities, resale and direct are mostly the same. There are some differences between the two though. As for what’s not included with resale…

What’s not included with Disney Vacation Club Resale Points?

When you buy resale Disney Vacation Club you don’t get access to DVC discounts or Member events. In order to qualify for all of the perks and extras, as of 2022, a new Member would need to purchase 150 points directly from Disney. This number has changed over time but once you qualify, you’re in. You also keep that eligible status if you decide to add on points through resale instead of direct. There are a few booking restrictions with resale, most noticeably related to Disney’s Riviera Resort. Upon introducing Riviera, the rules were changed so Members who purchased resale could not book there with points unless it was their home resort. It’s also good to note that if you purchase resale at Riviera, you can only use those points to book at Riviera.
