Resale

Maybe it’s the classic attractions. Perhaps it’s the delightful restaurants. It might be that you just love to be somewhere cheerful with your family. No matter what brings you back, the fact that you’re always excited to return to Disney Destinations means Disney Vacation Club might be a good fit for you. Investing in tomorrow’s vacations at today’s prices sounds like a good plan. And if you’ve heard DVC resale is lower in price than buying direct from Disney.. it’s true! So let’s talk numbers for DVC resale. How much does it cost?

DVC Resale: How Much Does it Cost?

The data shows us that over time, DVC goes up in price but in the short term, from month to month, prices can fluctuate. For example, when it opened in 1991 Old Key West sold for around $50 per point through Disney and now costs around $180 per point today. However, on the resale DVC market, Old Key West points are much lower and consistently coming in around $100 per point for the last few years. If you had a 100 point contract at Old Key West, that would allow you to book a week-long stay almost any time throughout the year and have some points left over. Based on our last six most recent pending sales, Old Key West is selling for about $128 per point. Remember this is just the per point price before any fees to give you a general idea. So if you wanted a 100 point resale DVC contract at Old Key West, the going rate of $128 per point would bring you to an estimated $12,800. Some people buy resale DVC contacts outright and some finance. If you bought the contract without financing you’d be paying $881 per year for annual dues based on the 2022 dues per point cost.

DVC resale contract prices are determined based on a few things like the home resort, point value, time left on the contract and points available at the time of sale. The above example of Disney’s Old Key West Resort is just one vague look at pricing. The average DVC resale price per point as of mid-February in 2022 is about the same price used in the comparison at $127.95. However, there are resorts that cost more, like the Grand Floridian which is around $179 per point lately, and less, like Hilton Head which is around $70 per point.
