You may have heard that Disney Vacation Club costs less when you buy resale. So how much are DVC points actually selling for on the resale market? DVC Resale Experts seeks to inform potential buyers and sellers with helpful insight including data from our actual sales. There’s more than one way to keep up with the DVC resale market on our blog and website. Let’s take a look at some price comparisons and additional options to see what DVC points are selling for on the resale market.

DVC Resale Listings: How Much Are DVC Points Selling For?

As of early 2023, DVC resale prices are lower than normal for a few different reasons. Disney Vacation Club is not buying contracts back during the Right of First Refusal process for the first part of the year so far. This means lower bids on contracts are able to go through to become successful sales, bringing the overall price down across the board. There have also been many Members selling DVC over the last year or so. Can I even sell my DVC contract right now? Don’t be discouraged. DVC points listed for the right price are still likely to sell.

Here’s a look at DVC average resale prices from two different time periods for comparison. The first column shows average DVC resale prices from June 2021 through early May of 2023. The second column shows DVC average resale prices from April 2023. When comparing these two time periods, the DVC average resale prices are down at each resort, some more significantly than others. Typically we see DVC resale continue to rise in price just like direct Disney Vacation Club prices.

There are a few more Disney Vacation Club Resorts debuting soon. The Villas at Disneyland Hotel opens in late 2023. The Cabins at Fort Wilderness – A Disney Vacation Club Resort opens in 2024. The newest DVC resorts typically don’t have many contracts up for resale. Disney’s Riviera Resort, which opened in late 2019, is just a few years old though and does have contracts listed. Just not as much as others.

It’s possible to sell DVC, even if the current conditions represent a buyer’s market. Talk to an Expert about pricing your contract right.

Pricing Right: How Much Can I Sell My DVC Points For?

The value of DVC points will vary depending on the specifics of the contract. Of course the number of points is a big factor but details like the home resort, deed expiration and points available all determine the selling price. Demand can also come into play as it does in any market. Over the long term, the overall value of DVC points, including resale, continues to increase. When we zoom in on smaller periods of time, the data shows us that points on the DVC resale market tend to rise and fall in price from month to month. Unique situations can cause prices to rise or fall more significantly.

Details of your Disney Vacation Club contract that determine the price you can sell for:

Home resort | The DVC resorts all have different prices based on details like popularity, location and amenities.

Deed expiration | Some home resorts were offered optional contract extensions so there are different expirations.

Point value | This is the amount of points you are allotted annually.

Points available | It’s possible to have used some points or to have extra left over.
