Is DVC Moonlight Magic Included with Resale?
Unfortunately, DVC Moonlight Magic is not an included perk when you buy resale alone. This will be a deal breaker for some and won’t matter for others. If potential access to events like these are a must for you, it’s possible to have your points and save too. You can always buy the number of points needed to qualify for Membership Extras from Disney and buy the rest of your points on the resale DVC market.
What is Moonlight Magic?
Moonlight Magic is a special event held after hours at different Disney Parks. Only eligible Disney Vacation Club Members and their guests can attend. Disney says the events will have: shorter-than-usual wait times for select park attractions, Disney Characters sightings, reimagined entertainment and complimentary special treats and delectable delights. Members have waited for the DVC Moonlight Magic 2022 return the last few years. Now these events are back with about one per month scheduled for much of the year.
Comparing Resale DVC Savings to Direct Perks
If you’re not sure if missing out on this event is a deal breaker or not for you, let’s weigh some things. If you come once a year, a few things have to line up for you to even be in town when a Moonlight Magic event is happening. Remember that these events have a limited capacity and sell out. Even if you’re eligible to attend, there’s a chance you may not get a spot. With the amount of money you might save buying DVC resale instead of direct, you could buy tickets to special events for years to come. Yes, with a resale DVC Membership you’re giving up access to Members only events. Most require a minimum of 150 points purchased from Disney directly for new Members today. With resale, many Members save thousands of dollars. It’s not uncommon to save many thousands even. The lower cost per point could stretch the amount of points you’re able to buy with your budget, giving you longer vacations each year. The resale savings could help you plan even better trips. It really just depends on what you want and what’s important to you and your travel party.
