Crescent Lake is a happening area at the vacation kingdom. There are Friendship Boats coming and going, distant crowds cheering for the BoardWalk entertainment and the gushing waters of Stormalong Bay. Those who have a Disney Vacation Club home resort in this area will be happy to see Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resort Lighthouse restored after a recent refurbishment. Sometimes we don’t notice all of the work that goes into keeping Walt Disney World Resort beautiful, clean and well taken care of. It’s truly the little details like pressure washing, quiet repairs and fresh paint that make it sparkle.
Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resort Lighthouse Restored
After being surrounded with a scaffolding for about a month during the summer of 2022, your next trip to the area will show the Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resort lighthouse restored and lighting up the night. This illuminated beacon is a visual icon of the Epcot resort area and enjoyed by guests at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort and Disney’s Beach Club Resort where it’s built and Disney’s BoardWalk Resort which is just across the water.
The lighthouse, which does actually light up, is located at the end of a dock on Crescent Lake. Crescent Lake is a body of water in a connected series of waterways. It joins the waters of World Showcase Lagoon with the water in front of Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The Friendship Boat line of watercraft uses these waters to takes guests to both Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It’s quite convenient to get to these parks as a guest of one of these resorts. The dock that the lighthouse sits on is also a great Epcot firework viewing spot for those looking for something outside of the park. For reference, this dock is around the area guests board private firework cruise and recreational boats too.
Each night the lighthouse glows as its lined with string lights like the rest of Disney’s Yacht Club and Disney’s Beach Club Resorts. These two connected properties have many shared amenities including this boat launch and the incredible water play complex Stormalong Bay which many consider the best pool at Walt Disney World.
There are two Disney Vacation Club Resort properties in this area: Disney’s Beach Club Villas and Disney’s BoardWalk Villas. Disney’s BoardWalk is across the water and has a lovely view of these resorts and the lighthouse. Both are within walking distance of both Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and the Disney Skyliner stop at Epcot’s International Gateway entrance.
