runDisney Summer Virtual Races

runDisney Summer Virtual Races

We are officially in summer season at the Disney Parks, full of DVC points, Disney Magic and …hot weather. While the Florida weather is awesome for your DVC vacations, it’s not the most ideal for running, and Disney is one step ahead of you. RunDisney is offering a summer series for those sprinters that don’t want to wait until the annual races, which are normally January, February, March and November. And the reward is pretty cool…Frozen, you might say. If you participate in a 5K (3.1 miles) or a series of three 5Ks, you will earn a medal(s) celebrating the Frozen movies and musical! All races must be completed between June 1 and August 31,2022.

On April 2, 2022, virtual registration was open to the public and sold out for individual races, but the Frozen summer virtual series is still available!

How does it work?

Go to to sign up for the runDisney virtual challenge. The three race challenge is currently $159.90. (not including tax)

Run all three 5K’s anywhere you want! On your treadmill in your ice castle, on the trails of The Hundred Acre Woods, or even in your own neighborhood. Upload your times to runDisney and you will earn all three Frozen themed medals, and a fourth challenge completion medal. A themed bib and an at-home themed kit that includes a start line, finish line and mile markers will be available for download upon registration.

Virtual Fun

Once your application is complete you will have full access to runDisney’s Walt Disney Records playlist, as well as a virtual running course of your choice. Run alongside your favorite Disney friends, even Olaf will be there! Don’t forget to share your times and progress on the #runDisneyVirtual hashtag.

Running Inspiration and Training Guides

RunDisney, like all things Disney, helps you out every step of the way, and is now including running training plans. The plans were created by Jeff Galloway, an Olympian, runDisney trainer, and creator of the Run-Walk-Run method, a safe and effective way to increase endurance and pace. These plans are proven to help you achieve all of your running dreams in a safe and healthy way.

Why do a Virtual run?

As DVC members, when we are not on Disney property, we try to bring that Disney magic to our everyday lives anyway we can. Virtual races are a great way to train for an in person Disney marathon (which is on many DVC Member’s bucket list.) It’s also an awesome way to build your endurance for going on your DVC Vacation, or stay active and healthy so you can enjoy many DVC vacations to come. Whatever your reason to run, we support you and we’ll see you at the starting line.
