Does Animal Kingdom Lodge have firework views?

Let’s say it’s the first night of your vacation. You get into town in the late afternoon and plan to check in, have dinner at your resort and watch fireworks from outside of the parks. It is possible to see fireworks from quite a few different places around Walt Disney World property. When it comes to resorts, it really depends on how close you are to the parks that have fireworks. So can you see fireworks from Animal Kingdom Lodge property?

No. While there are plenty of things to do at this resort, watching the fireworks is not one of them. Let’s discuss why, what you’ll love about this resort including the fabulous food and animal views from around the resort property and how you can watch fireworks from other resorts. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is actually one of the DVC resorts with the worst firework views. That’s not a bad thing to everyone. Some are looking for a quiet night time experience back at their hotel. It might be that you want to get the kids to bed early or don’t want to be woken up on early nights yourself.

Why are there no fireworks at Animal Kingdom?

You can’t see fireworks from Animal Kingdom Lodge because there are no fireworks at Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park and this resort is too far from the parks that have nightly firework shows. This is done by design to provide a safe and natural environment for the thousands of animals and many different species that call the Animal Kingdom theme park and resort home.

If you are looking for Disney resort hotels that have views of fireworks, we have top recommendations below.

Can you see fireworks from Disney resorts?

You can absolutely see fireworks from Disney resorts but only certain ones. Hotels in the Magic Kingdom and Epcot areas are your best bet. Watching the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the Grand Floridian is always a delight. The marina and the restaurant Narcoossee’s both have lovely views and play the music. On the other side of the Seven Seas Lagoon, fireworks from the Contemporary are fun to watch and there’s even an outdoor viewing area on the fourth floor. You can see fireworks from the Polynesian resort where the restaurant ‘Ohana and many places near the water play the show music. All of these resorts have different spots where you can see the castle from too which is always nice. In the Epcot area, fireworks from the Disney BoardWalk are delightful, though the view may be a bit obstructed, and there are plenty of places to eat.

This expands your dining options quite a bit. In order to park at another Disney resort that you aren’t an overnight guest of, you will need a dining reservation. Even with a dining reservation, on the busiest of days you may not be able to park at a resort to visit and dine. This includes peak and holiday times like Christmas week, New Year’s Eve and Independence Day.

How to get to other Disney resorts

Disney resorts provide all kinds of amazing transportation options for guests to use to get around property. How to get to other Disney resorts depends on where you are going. Each resort has transportation to the parks and Disney Springs. Most use busses. Resorts do not have transportation directly to other resorts. So it’s definitely possible to get from one resort to another but it does require some planning. The best way to get to another resort is usually to take a bus from one of the theme parks. Basically you transfer at the bus depot to be taken somewhere else. Some resorts also have boats, monorail or Disney Skyliner access.

Animal Kingdom Lodge Room Views

Even without firework views, Animal Kingdom Lodge offers views you won’t forget. Rooms with better views usually come at a premium price. Disney is careful about promising a special view unless they really mean it. Sometimes you’ll even end up getting a partial special view by surprise because Disney makes sure rooms with a designated view type have a superior view.

According to the Disney Vacation Club point charts for Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, there are Standard View and Savanna View room categories. There are also Value Accommodation rooms and Kilimanjaro Club Concierge. Jambo House and Kidani Village have different savannas around them. Savanna view rooms are available on different floors, each offering a different vantage point. Imagine enjoying your morning coffee or some quiet time as giraffes saunter by.
